When I started growing 4 years ago when I got my medical card after a lifetime of dealing with black market growers I took the advise of jorje from his Grow book.
He suggested contacting breeders we are interested in and see what they say.
I only got a few contacts back surprisingly. Pete at CH9 had the best gallery at the time and spoke honestly. He also specialized in uplifting medical hybrids and I was sick of overbred couchlock strains. I was looking for a jack Herrer or c99 type strain. So I tried him after my standard first greenhouse seeds auto northern lights grow. Lol.
I have had 100’s of Ch9 seeds grown and harvested now and germination is pretty much guaranteed. Only a few older pack seeds failed or grew mutants. The packs were from the late 90’s. And I was aware of the age when I purchased.
And potency and yield has been very consistent even when trying new strains plant to plant.
Flavors and effects are always true to the original breeders in crosses and always very different strain to strain as well.
And the patients all rave about the product. And it helps me with my chronic illness, always tastes great and gets me trippin’ high. Which is the best meter.
Pete has gone into the bulk seed business. I don’t think he is still breeding new stuff. But you can buy some of his best work in bulk far cheaper per seed than any of this retail business we are discussing.
I may buy a few hundred OG Kush x Trainwreck and just grow the few phenos I have seen from seed. I really like those plants.
Here is the last one I grew.
