No Cigarettes Thread

I stopped smoking 9 years ago. I think what worked for me is that I stopped lying to myself and called a spade, a spade.

Smoking cigarettes is NOT a bad habit, it's a drug addiction. On top of that, I also despise having to fund such a wasteful government so any opportunity I have to short change them, I will. Every pack of cigarettes I don't buy is another $3-5 in taxes the GREEDY politicians don't have to lavish on their pampered lifestyles. $3 per day x 365 = $1095. If you had $1,100 in your pocket right now, would you spend it on you or would you donate it to the presidential campaign race?

I don't crave em at all anymore. The only time I crave a cig is that every once in a blue moon when I do a line or two. Then I want a cig, other than that.....nah.

Quitting cigarettes is really difficult if you already live with it but come to think of the bad effects that it will cause you. I knew it because my dad passed away because of too much smoking. My advice is learn and try to stop smoking as much as possible.

its been on my mind for a while, i finaly quit opiates about a year ago after many years of abuse and ive learned its almost impossible (for me) to ween myself off of something, if i have it i use it... cold turkey is the only way for me and I am going to really go for it, leaving my cash and card at home so while im at work i cant go out and buy a pack, i know itll take a while but my attemps in not smoking as much just dont work and patches and gum i feel like are like suboxone and methadone, not for me ill just abuse it, but atleast i relize that i suppose ... glad for this post it sort of reminded me that i do need to and want to quit, just gotta deal with it.. hopefully ill like gain some weight or something lol i hear thats a thing when u stop smoking

I tried rolling a joint everytime I wanted a cigarette but after smoking 83 joints in two days I quit quitting.
Don't try my method it doesn't work
Lmao - Tried this one with same results. Did lots of research on all the chemicals they put into cigs. About 880 of them in fact. For me, this was enough to help disgust and repel me from smoking, and when the cravings got really severe I vaped my kangertech and occasionally took a couple of hits from the bubbler. These two help me stay away from the nasty-ass habit in question. Now days I spend my money better. (:

The tobacco industry is a crime against humanity, in place to line the pockets of politicians and the pharmaceutical industry. They are cashing in on your death. They know how toxic and deadly cigs are yet they remain legal? They know how cannabis is non toxic and a relief for many ailments yet remains pretty much illegal most places. It annoys me that the general population cannot or refuse to rationalise this and stand up to the governments of the world with a coherent argument that reverses this. But the fact is, the money being made both from taxing the cigs and cashing in on peoples cancer treatments, is just to great and the truth will be censored forever, as the media of course is the government. sadly most people on the planet can't think for themselves and really on the media for guidance on how to live. so people will always be in a mindset of "cannabis - illegal = bad. cigarettes - unhealthy, but legal = good "

Did Afghanistan fuck you up a little? You were always fine with me even tho a lot of heads don't seem to like you, i respect tour views even though I don't share them, but that crazy stalking shit was wack. Let that hate go. If you can't let it go just ignore them. Peace

The cycle of craving and satiating yourself with cigarettes had been my routine for 2 decades. The need and fulfilment. It's been months since I quit so that crave and need should be gone. But it's not. I constantly feel restless and like something is missing. Does this ever go away? I know cigarettes are disgusting and the same as taking a stack of cash and burning it while drinking drano. But I want. I always want.
Does it go away? I don't care for this restlessness. Sorry to be such a whiner just figured I'd feel better by now.

Good job! Get back on that horse as fast as possible so you don't waste time. I'll bet you were starting to forget about smoking? I sure did after a few months but I went the gum route so it took me a year to get off of the gum. Yuck! It fucked up my teeth and when I quit the gum I got chest pains and had to go to the ER. I don't know what it was but the gum is evil too. Good luck man, you'll beat this dirty addiction.

I have quit a few time's, once for a year, the craving never went away, especially when someone is smoking near me and o can smell it. It sucks, wish I never started. Motherfuckers got me at 14 and now I'm almost 38.

Yup i started forgeting about em all together. Stupid cocaine......(don't judge, just a once in a blue moon thing)but it goes better with cigarettes than anything. Other than lsd anyway. When i smoked and did lsd i would just light a cigarette, barely smoke it and just wave it around it the air and stare at the cherry and smoke swirls.
