Nirvana's Papaya 400w MH grow.

i got my seeds in the other day, i've got 4, 1 month old papaya ready to go into flower, 4 hindu kush a couple of weeks old, and i just started 4 blue mystic. i'm wanting a cycle that i can harvest once a month. the new flowering room is up and going.

As far as checking the trichomes, if you can't find a 30x+ scope, just find something around 8-10x. I use an 8x magnifier designed for looking at slides.

hey bro, how close does that 8x magnifier get you to viewing trichs?
 
The light is working pretty good. Throws off some heat though. I am back to the whole fan thing now. For looking at the buds I have been using 2 magnifying glasses together. It works ok but barely. I need better setup. I also forgot that I will need a digital scale so that is next on my list.
 
I checked my new Papaya seeds today and all 5 of them had a nice lil root coming out so I just popped them in some dixie cups. I also noticed the last living Hindu Kush was at its 5th node so I cut it down above the 3rd node. I would have done the 2nd node but because of the problems I had with it the 3rd was the best choice. I cut the lowest set of leaves off the cutting then I dipped it in water then rooting hormone. I stuck it in the Pro-Mix and there you go. Should I stick a humidity dome over it yet? All I have is some clear plastic cups. They might work. What kind of light should I put the new cutting under right now. maybe just a window? Thanks.

Put clones under weak light; keep them out of the sun. A fluoro would probably be best, as would a humidity dome/plastic cup. You know you can put them in a cup of water and not have to worry about them wilting.

They seem to be getting fatter but it so hard for to tell. I see it too much. Its like my pitbull puppy I got a while back, I don't think its getting bigger but people will say that its huge now. I have to tie up all the branches now also. they are just flopping to one side. So that must mean something. I was moving shit around my closet yesterday and managed to knock off a lower branch with a little popcorn bud on it. I trimmed it up and it looked pretty good it was starting to get some amberish color to it and was loaded with trichs. I stuck it just on top of my light for a bit and it was a quick dry but it still fucked me up. got about 3 bowl fulls out of it. A couple bong hits and I am happy for hours. Can't wait for a good drying and curing. I am curious how much I'll get out of this batch. I know I can do better next time so this was just a learning grow. Anything I get out of it is fine by me. I have a couple nice colas that are about a foot long and the other plant is a little shorter but more dense. The LST plant is a little skinnier because of the short growing time. I'll put up a few pics tomorrow.
 
i took a few quick pics to show where I am at now. I am noticing that the leaves around a couple of colas are starting to dry up and die on the tips working in. I don't know how concerned I should be. I have it on just straight water now so that may be the issue. In the picture I stuck a sharpie next to the top just to scale it for you. I am not sure how the size is due to fact that I have never had them before. I am curious what the weight will end up being. As long as I don't expect alot this time around I should be satisfied with what I get. All of the 5 seeds are now sticking out of the dirt and growing. The clone is still green and alive and gets misted with water as it needs it. I don't have room for it now in my closet unless I stick it in the veg side under 400w so I have it on a window sill in my kitchen with a cfl above the sink. I need a better way for the next ones. These 3 flowering plants are getting smellier by the day also. Half of the house smells when the door is opened and closed. Another fan is coming soon. Here you go for now.

I have also been noticing more people are getting Papaya seeds now. Maybe there is enough for a club to stay in check with everyone else and compare results and problems and so forth. Just a thought.
 
those girls are looking healthy. you need to get some mylar to compliment that light. we are getting a 3 day cold snap down here, after it moves on i will put my 4 papayas into 12/12. i need to post some pics, maybe another papaya thread?
 
just upgraded to the hydro farm hood about to go back and get a 400 watt hps for my flower

they're a month and 10 days old been under the metal halide 400 watt

I tried some nice bud off a lower branch that was ready last night. Holy shit. 4 hours of my ears ringing and laughing at stupid shit. This is some dangerous stuff. I love papaya.
