Pink eye Runtz for sure the next thing smokin
im in a legal state but in the midwest. just glad i dont do business with folks so focused on hype, that shit sounds exhausting. Ive never grown a cross well that wasnt popular with literally everyone i deal with. From old tried and true genetics to the new whacky named shit. I'd grow a crop of boring old SFV OG, Bubba Kush, TK or Chem 4 right now without hesitation. One thing I appreciate about non legal states is that quality sells not hype. I’ve been digging stuff with TKs and Chems lately.
As much as I can’t stand the company I got it from, I can’t lay all the fault on them. I’m willing to bet any clone company that was around 3 or more years ago has passed out the virus. I’ve seen estimates that 75 percent of California gardens have plants with the virus."allegedly"
I think someone is confusing PCG with Dark Heart Nursery (Dark Fart), who often sells clones at the same dispensaries. I know that PCG does everything they can ti keep the viroid out of their nursery. They test their mothers for the viroid something like every two weeks. I've had the viroid before, and I got it from a Dark Fart clone. I've gotten several strains from PCG, and they have always been solid. I already have Gush Mints in flowering now, still needs a couple/few weeks, but it definitely doesn't have hplvd. It's vigorous and stacks hard. I have wedding cake next to it, and the wedding cake is frostier, but it will be interesting to see how it develops in the final weeks. I've grown wedding cake multiple times, so I know what to expect and how to treat it, but first time with gush mints for me.
I would disagree that legal market dictates hype. At least not here in Michigan. The fire is mostly still in the streets here. Of course you can find nice stuff in a store if you look hard enough, but I end up giving away a lot of bags I buy from the store and I always buy the best I can find regardless of price.Hype is somewhat contained within state borders nowadays. Cuts have to be renamed in some legal states where they're afraid of crossing the Feds.
So the rec market in those states dictates their hype now.
Michigan hype is much different than East or West hype.
IG hype sucks. But at least we all still have forum hype in common.
I honestly still haven’t seen a dip or the problem with the market that I hear every one claiming. But a lot of people here sitting on packs or selling em cheap. I see people selling equipment daily.im in a legal state but in the midwest. just glad i dont do business with folks so focused on hype, that shit sounds exhausting. i ran a couple phenos of Horchata x Grape Gasoline, both were pretty good. Cannarado messes with a lot of hype shit and is less shady than most of the names on your original list, imo. The pack of London Pound Cake x Cheetah Piss i just bought is a good example.Next order will prob be relentless or if I find some of the grape gasoline stuff from compound I’m likely to grab those as well. I also kinda wanna run a jungle boys pack to see how they compare to all the other breeders I’ve run.
I'm sure there's some good stuff in those but how much different can they be from all the other gelato derivatives out there? How many of these hype cuts of today will have true staying power 10 years from now? There's a whole generation of smokers nowadays that have never experienced other elites besides the cookie cut of the month. At some point the wagon is gonna circle back to blueberry, bubblegum, tangie, etci ran a couple phenos of Horchata x Grape Gasoline, both were pretty good. yeah i agree. I could care less what the flavor of the month is as long as theres plenty of gassy stuff aroundI'm sure there's some good stuff in those but how much different can they be from all the other gelato derivatives out there? For some reason compound prices seem to have almost doubled. I don’t really wanna drop 350-400 on one pack. I mean I would but seeds are like lottery tickets anyways, you might find a winner but you might not.i ran a couple phenos of Horchata x Grape Gasoline, both were pretty good. I have an old bubble gum going now. I had 30 seeds 5 years ago and I occasionally pop them. Some of the most consistent seeds I’ve ever had, I don’t really care for it but my patients like it. Makes me eat til my stomach hurts every time and then I’m real tired and bloated lol. I have a couple packs of In house that have some blue berry , I think they are blue sherb s1 and another cross with blue sherb. I’ve grown a lot of blue berry crosses, but it’s been a long time, I had blueberry cross from nirvana that was actually really good.I'm sure there's some good stuff in those but how much different can they be from all the other gelato derivatives out there? As far as personal smoke I have a type and should find it in my gmo crosses. But as far as the market goes, some of my guys could care less, and others have access to about whatever they want and prices are falling fast here. If my shit isn’t better and isn’t what they want I’ll end up holding it for longer than I like. So far that hasn’t happened but I have anxiety about it from listening to the all the other growers here who are having issues moving product web at stupid low prices.yeah i agree. I'm still running the Wedding Cake cut, which some might say has been played out for a bit, but every time I flower it I remember why I keep her. She's a modern classic. I think that anyone who remembers the Bluberry from the west coast in the 90's has been wanting that for a long time, but no cuts that compare have been circulating. Personally I want a classic Grapefruit cut, but I've been having trouble finding that perfect pheno which brings me back to the days of yesteryear.I'm sure there's some good stuff in those but how much different can they be from all the other gelato derivatives out there? It is pretty crazy how many modern strains have their genetics in them. It seems that these days you are more likely than not to find cookies genetics in the lineage than not.Let's be real though the next hype strain will probably be whatever cookie fam decides to push next lol
Check out Dynasty Genetics for legit Grapefruit. He has a worked F3 Grapefruit and crosses with two F2 cutsI'm still running the Wedding Cake cut, which some might say has been played out for a bit, but every time I flower it I remember why I keep her. Yeah Wedding cake is def played out. I’ve ran that legit cut for quite some time now. Had a good run but gotta finally quit snapping cuts of her.I'm still running the Wedding Cake cut, which some might say has been played out for a bit, but every time I flower it I remember why I keep her. Played or not, I still love the Wedding Cake. Which of their cuts do you like?Yeah Wedding cake is def played out. I’ve ran that legit cut for quite some time now. Had a good run but gotta finally quit snapping cuts of her.
That gush mints is just blah imo. The weakest strain from pcg i’ve grown so far. Few runs of it and no more for me.
Their runtz really is the best runtz cut out as advertised. Still on the fence with the Slurty3. Mac1 frosty AF. The slurricane didn’t make the cut because not stoney enough which i knew it wouldn’t be going in.Played or not, I still love the Wedding Cake. Which of their cuts do you like?
There are tons of breeders who's drops sell out fast to their fanboys. Doesn't mean the gen pop is hyped by it at allNext hype strain is Cricketts and Cicada Puck HP x Puck HP BC2, but they sold out in 5 minutes 2 weeks ago. There were so many people on 3 different sites on 2 different days the site servers crashed at every release.
2 different days were the first releases, and the 3rd day 2 weeks later was the restock.
Seeds Here Now, Labyrnth, Seed Source all crashed on the first release. I didnt get any packs from SHN, though I tried. All my computer would do for 45 minutes was time out.
There were also a few other strains available that sold out just as fast. The restock at JBC Seeds took 3 minutes to sell out, of 3 different strains.
The Puck Hashplant is also known as Skelly Hashplant. It also has a sister known as Cuddlefish HP. The Cuddlefish, and Puck/Skelly were both used in Dominion Seed Company Local Skunk. Which was killer by the way.
Skelly/Puck was found in 1989 from Nevils release of what he called Hashplant.
Puck/Skelly is a cross of clone only Pacific Northwest HP x NL1. They got a male of this F1 cross, and backcrossed it to the clone only PNWHP mother.
The Puck x Puck HP BC2 was a further cross back into the Puck, and PNWHP.
He also had a cross of the PNWHP x Puck HP BC1. Thats the one I got, before the site crashed. They were sold of the Puck x Puck HP BC2 in seconds. I got mine, and then the site crashed.
I got the PNWHP x Puck HO BC1 from JBC.
I also got the Sensi Star x Puck HPBC1 before the site crashed. It came from Labyrnth Seeds. That site also crashed.
On the restock at JBC they had
Nepalese x Puck HP BC1, and is the one I got from JBC
They also had the Sensi Star x Puck HP BC1, and a Lebanese x Puck HP BC1. I want 1 pack of all 3, but only managed to 1 pack of the Nepali cross.
Bob Hemphill took 5 years to develop these crossses, and test them. I hear at some point hes going to release a Puck HP x Puck HP BC3
