I have four ww plants in a six gallon bubbleponic system under 2 dual spectrum 65's and a 1,000 w hps. I am using Ionic grow nutrients and gave them half of a cup Friday night. Saturday afternoon I was already seeing what appears to be a magnesium problem. Should I dump half the water and fill up with fresh? Will it go away on its own? I am getting slight curling and yellowing on some of the leaves, It almost looks like they might be getting burned but the hps is like 2 feet above. Advise would be appreciated.
don't want to hijack this thread (you should post your question in the problems forum)... but it sounds like heat burn or nute burn to me (doubtful it is a Mg deficiency). is your light air-cooled - what are the temps at the top of the canopy?

Update:
Well the plants have bushed up even more in the last day, so it is time to flower. Due to me not having a very advanced timer, I will be going a straight 12/12 each day, instead of 6:40/12. I also will be needing a new way to keep those temps down because I'm going to need to attach the carbon scrubber to the fan cuz these lil gals are already getting stinky.

Is 84 too hot with lights on? I think I will keep lights on at night, so the closet door can be left open, and better circulation.

Also, I read that by keeping the room at lower humidity during flowering the plants will get much more resiny, if so at what point should I discontinue the use of the humidifier?

No need to not go straight to 12/12 - might as well get them used to the idea straight away! 84 without CO2 injection in my opinion is too hot. if you could get it down to 75 or even 78 would be better. I ended up shoving an air conditioner onto my box to get the temps down - too late to avoid severe heat stress unfortunately though i should still get some harvest.

Plants really need fresh air - and the hotter the more fresh air they need!

I don't know about the more resiny part but i do know late flowering buds are highly susceptible to molds if they remain too moist.

Well good news and bad news... I topped my plant!

Bad news---it was unintentional.

Due to a small lighting accident a fluorescent fixture came crashing down on my biggest plant, breaking the top, and stripping off a lower branch.:cuss:

On the other hand, the timer is hooked up and the temperatures are muchhh more manageable now that we keep lights out during the day n open doors at night.

How badly do you think I hurt the big Bubba Kush? I'm not to familiar with topping techniques, but do you think it will do okay?

Here are some updated pics of the plants, and the damage zones.

They are looking good, but if I was you I would be looking into another tank. Maybe homemade. I originally bought 2 SH bubbleponics tanks. And though I like them and love them, they're are better hydro methods. They are going to be way to close together. You should have never veged them. Try to get another tank and turn the two lenght ways instead of 1 horizontal. Lata GL

Yeah, I already made the switch out of the tiny little reservoir that StealthHydro gave me, and switched up to a 18 gallon reservoir, it definitely helped space it out, but you're right, I probably should have gone straight to flower, its my first time and I failed to realize how much plants grow during flowering as well.

Purfect when you switched out the resevoir with the larger 18 gallon did you just go to the store, find a similar sized tupperware container and the lit to your SH hydro system fit or did you re-cut holes and all in a new container? If its easy to just get a container and my top will fit on another one then I might as well go get a larger one myself. Your grow is looking really good so far, I will make sure to keep checking up on this! Are you using the basic nutes from the company or did you buy nutes, if so what are you using? If you have a chance check out my forum of my own bubbleponic grow and tell me what you think!

Well everyone, I'm starting to experience my first real plant problems, and it seems they're all coming around at the same time.

The plants have been growing so fast that I haven't been raising the lights often enough, and there was a little bit of heat damage to some top leaves.

The other problem, I am unsure of, I have attached some pictures of them. I think it is mold, which means that yesterday is the last day of the humidifier, but I may be wrong. Are there any techniques I should use to help keep the away the mold/keep it from spreading???

On a brighter note, the first pistils are starting to show up on the plants. (also pictured)

ChroniComedian, I did have to cut holes in a new reservoir, but the plastic is very flimsy and is not even a 15 minute task with a razor blade or exacto knife. I HIGHLY recommend switching reservoirs, as my plants are crowded as hell even with the expansion.

Looking nice man! I am not familiar with mold myself so I wish I could tell you if yours were molding. I myself have em dry out and look a bit similar at times. Thanks for your suggestions on the resevoir, I'll definitely try to do that next time as its too hard to switch it over now with 4 plants root systems engtangled about :P. I am also jealous that yours are showing their pistils so early, I waited about 16-17 days for my first, but you also have them nice guarenteed female clones :P. Keep up the good work man, and just again what nutrients are you using? Thanks!

My root systems were tangled pretty badly as well, but with a little bit of patience its just like taking apart a giant knot in some yarn. I am still using the stealth hydro supplied nutrients, but will probably switch during my next grow. p.s. those buds you have are lookin mighty nice, I'm lookin forward to them as well.

Once again if anybody knows how to best combat mold, it would be appreciated, I found that if I do not have my closet door open at night when the lights come on, the humidity was so drenching in there that i had to take a towel to wipe off the inside of the door. That security risk should only be a one time thing though, and now I have taken the humidifier out and will retire it until the next veg cycle.

the best way to combat mold is to reduce humidity. increasing circulation is a good way to achieve that, as well as killing the humidifier, so you're on the right track. if you actually start to get a case of mold, hanging sulfur is a good first step.

Well sorry I haven't been making regular posts, midterms have been kicking my ass. The mold problem was spreading more and more and it was so bad today, I decided I was forced into lollipopping the plants. I cut off alot of moldy foliage down by the bottom, discovered that mold was growing on the rooting block, and some hydroton. I think all of the mold was removed, but I am not so sure. The plants have been growing a lot, and the Bubba Kush are kinda bullying their way over the LA CON. On the other hand, I'm ecstatic about the bud growth (one of them got a lil toasted due to me not checking on the lights after some crazy growth spurt over the day)

..but I got to go out to see Ironman... :peace: out.

Well today I changed out the reservoir again, and decided that I would increase my reservoir by 50%, so now there is 9 gallons of water in there, and 1.5 amounts of nutrients.

When I woke up this morning I could hear that the waterpump was out of the water (bubbling noises), and I saw that the lights were still on! (2 hours into dark period) I immediatly killed the lights, and found out that the timer SH shipped me was already broken...16 days into use...WOW!

I decided to take out the waterpump, because one of the hoses was pinched, and I figured the plants would do just fine in a DWC kit now that the rootballs are so huge.

Cool man, I ended up cutting one of my plants that wasn't doing well, the moms one :-P but my other 3 are doing well. I also had the problem of a couple of the hoses going out, but I think its in the pump, not the hoses, I started with 6 pods and am down to two now and just plugged the rest of the tubes to the bottoms of my plants now to feed so they each have a couple hoses under them. I am changing out my nutrients today as well and gonna try something new, you still sticking with the stealth hydro nutes? Your grow looks sick man, keep up the good work!

Well I just attempted to solve the mold problem.

Bought some 3% H202 and put it in the foliar sprayer n hosed the motherfuckers down...hope that wasn't a bad thing to do.

I also dumped a little bit in the tank, hopefully that doesn't affect PH too much either...

Hopefully this will solve our persistant mold problem

keep trying to kick out that mold! it can ruin your buds. Try to take away all sources of nourishment. One of the best things to prevent (not sure about get rid of) mold is lots and lots of air circulation. And of course, removing all mold from the growing area before planting. Unfortunately, those are preventative, pre-planting measures.

I haven't had to fight a mold problem so others with experience should take precedence - but I'm pretty sure spraying your buds could very well increase mold production.

Well, email, you were right. The hydrogen peroxide spray didnt kill off the mold at all. Do you think Neem Oil will do the trick? If so I'll see if I can get over to Home DePot asap to battle this pain in the ass. My other option would to get a loan from a buddy to buy a dehumidifier, but idk if I want to because this summer I may want to buy a nice portable air conditioner that would double up as one.

Buds are comin along nicely, startin to get a nice lil stank to em, nothin too big yet though.

Here are some pics of the progress, and hopefully I can kick this mold before the buds start gettin hit (I've been pruning moldy leaves alot more than I want to)

On another note I have a drug test coming up soon for my summer job, and I have been bud free for 26 days now . Hopefully my system will be clear by Memorial Day, but I was a daily smoker so I'm not so sure.
