This is my first grow and I’ve read a lot on this site, just want a second opinion. The seeds are from some good stuff from a local source but the strain is unknown. I started two of these plants but the first has already died with the exact same condition and I don’t want to lose another one. This poor girl (I hope) is about 4 weeks old and was transplanted bout a week ago. The other one was looking like this before transplant so I don’t think transplanting was the cause. I haven’t gotten a PH meter yet but am going to try to pick one up this weekend.

I should also add that I just switched to 400w MH about the same time I transplanted.

Could this be a Nitrogen or Magnesium issue and how do I correct it? Or is it something else? Any suggestions??? All advice is greatly appreciated. I also want to say what a great site this is!!!!

Grow setup:
Sun Grow Potting Mix #1 (local nursery)
400w MH on 18/6 cycle, Light about 20 inches away
Pure Blend Grow (every other watering)
Spring Water
Temp round approx 75 and fan running

Stop the nutes and flush ASAP. They're too young for nutes....and they look way small for 4 weeks old....not sure why exactly... but do the flush(I love clearex) and just use tap water for a bit and see if it helps. Also go ahead and remove those leaves that are more than 50% dead. And yes get a ph meter....and tds

Flushing ASAP... I thought they needed nutes cause they were growing so slow. They took a week and half to sprout and out of the 8 planted only two came up. Is there such a thing as bad seeds?? Could the PH cause slow growth? Or maybe because they have been under 40w fluorescent lights until last week? Thanks for the advice....

its all about the ph man... they look like there not getting enough water... i have 1 cfl (42 watt) and my girl has only been planted for 3 days and almost bigger then the one in the pic.. i have my ph at 7.4 for the 1st week then i am slowly going to lower it to 6.3 or 6.2.. the soil and water are the ground work dont take them lightly... also your light cycle should be 24 hours until week 2.. jus some heads up for next time

18/6 is fine, I think better, no need to change....the only perk is that you can always go in to check on them without disturbing the light cycle, which is nice. My philosophy is that the plants need their down time. The flouro would have been fine. Don't put that MH too close either. And yes there are good seeds and bad seeds...I believe you have the latter. I was going to say you might want to start fresh(hate saying it though) PH can and will stunt growth.
