Newbie In Minnesota Needs Help!

So, I'm from minnesota and have been an avid smoker since I was about 13... (24 now) Only problem is, as I get older all of my buddies either quit selling it, move away, or have to stop for legal reasons. (the dumb ones that got caught, I guess you could say)

Now, Im NOT looking for weed connections on this website... just stating the facts. Which has led me to my dilemma.

I've looked all over, and haven't found any details on the legality of growing a plant or two in the closet... what's the penalty for cultivation of a couple plants? Slap on the wrist, or life changing felony status? I'll check this website occasionally to see if anyone can help, although It hasnt so far. (other people have asked this question with no results, at least in the few postings I've seen)


Any info would be appreciated. Also, what's up fellow potheads? I know that wasn't the best introduction ever... and as deceiving as my name is, Im not looking for drug dealers or to ruin RUI's awesome site. Just lookin for answers, buddies, and of course cool stoner chicks.

Check the site NORML they have all the states penalties.

I've checked it, but it didn't specify cultivation laws. Just selling vs personal. Although, even personal after 42.5 grams was considered a felony with 5 years in jail... and who's to say a couple plants couldn't turn into "intent to sell" knowing our corrupt, fucked up government. As much as I want to start up a closet, I'm scared shitless to do so.

Perhaps I'll just start looking for new pothead friends/buddies, and hopefully gain new hooks through them eventually.

If you dont have to worry about people finding it just dont tell a sole. I know its hard. If you have to do it though, do it anonymously.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from with the whole fed 200+ plant thing... but if a cop were to somehow stumble upon it, you'd still get prosecuted. Unexpected things happen, and I dont think I'm willing to take the risk just to not have to pay for pot. I wish all of you who do grow, the best of luck and safety though. Nobody should be in jail for smoking a plant that has never killed anyone, while alcohol and tobacco is on every fucking corner.

I would do a small clone(1 mother) cycle grow, where I'm able to harvet 2-3 plants every month.
Be to honest, growing just 2 plants isn't worth the set up $ and you'll always run out.
...... If busted the numbers are low and you have ever run out of pot.
after all how is 2-3 plants gona last you 3-4 months?

i see we share a common state....... in this state its 10 years for one flower man it better be kind if you want two of them

I have a friend who is a cop in the Twin Cities and I'll ask him tonight when he gets on Xbox Live.

I'm looking into doing my own plant(2-3, actually) and as far as I can tell its basically OK. Cops don't care about a few plants because you're not the big guy.

But I guess it helps I live in Madison.

Well doesn't it usually take 4 months to fully cultivate a plant? And depending on how well it grew and your growing skills I thought it could give you up to 4 oz.

I can easily grow 2-3 plants, then as soon as I harvest it I start up another because I only smoke on the weekends(my damn tolerance is way to high) and I generally vape my stuff so it lasts longer. So 4 oz could very well last me 3-4 months.

I could be wrong though, I've never tried to grow my own stuff yet.
