Newbie here, Any industry friends around?

Hello, Im new at growing my own stuff in a tent at home. Im very passionate about the culture, the people, and the plant. I really want to get into the industry but not really sure where to start. I live in southern california and it seem like my only path at the moment is working at a dispo or as a trimmer. It would be my dream to have a small garden and sell locally. Is this even possible or is it just too late?

The market is pretty flooded in Ca. For all intents and purposes there's no market for bud, most of it goes into vapes and edibles. I have a friend who got into the business when medical marijuana was first OK'ed, and his transition to recreational was easy since he already had his supply chain and buyers locked up. Very difficult to be a small start up right now.

Check and see if any of the temp Agencies around you, place into cannabis jobs. Here in Coachella Valley, Ca, it’s super weed friendly and there are a couple of temp agencies that do cannabis worker jobs.

If you are an experienced home grower, you may find commercial Cannabis frustrating and it will test your discipline. Not every commercial grow know what the fuck they are doing. If any of you work in the industry, you know what I mean.

Even in Ohio its really hard. You would have to basically develop your own strains and genetics and that takes some time.

Growing is fun though, and being a trimmer isnt bad. Have to start somewhere. A lot of us started with tomatoes and peppers
