Well check water filtering. I read something about filtering through water somehow. I can't seem to find the link now. But carbon filtering is not enough?
Yes a Carbon Filter would do... but its causing my closet temps to sky rocket when on, so i've kept it off!

The filter is increasing temps?

If you can hang the filter high up in the tent,
then it ought to reduce temps.

Good luck,

JD

I did have it high... i just think it was too restrictive it reduced my exhaust flow, in turn raised my temps. Temps lately have been high as is so the filter would have killed my plants if it didn't burn my place down first! :P

Oh my. Thick dense budz!!! Nice! I really like the color and those bright orange hairs....i am getting excited for both of us. I cant wait to see a finished product. how are your trichomes looking?

And yes the buds seem to be packing weight and density. Also, I have over-sized hands :/ I need something to better compare size for those that can't see them in person.

The Digital microscope I got, wasn't working well because its hard to keep stable... so I waiting for my jewelers microscope to come in.
But from what I have seen, I was noticing 50/50 milky and clear on the bubble, and just a little more milky on the AK. Once I get the jewelers scope in ill be certain to get a better look at them.

I got the one I have because I wanted to be able to snap pictures of the trichomes!

Thats awesome. I actually cut and dried a very small amount. Dried enough to fill up my pinch hitter once. A hit and a half is all I got. And its all that I needed. I did this all when I accidentally cut a small bud off when I was trimming a few dead leaves. I didnt think id get a real high because of how little amout there was. But I did. And it was a Smile A Mile high. I love those... Im super excited. Ive got my 60x100 microscope. I agree. It is hard to keep it still and its hard to lean over and not be shakey. I figure. Us being fairly new still at this. Its all about learning and being paranoid. But I think if you just cut small discreet pieces off. Hell its damn near ready reguardless. Use the micros, do your bud checks. Then just let it dry and fire it up. I let that little bud dry for a couple days then I just threw it into a clean pill bottle. It was smaller then a dime. And tiny after it dried. Thats why im so excited cuz I gave myself a small taste of the quality. Cant wait to smoke budz that had another 2 weeks to mature and 2 weeks to cure. Im thinking im gonna cut her down next saturday. We shall wait and see.

Trichomes update on AK49!

Wondering everyone thought... should I chop??
I couldn't get it focus great for the picture but some of the circled ones are amber and shriveled up others have a amber center gland.

...and those two...along the horizontal center line...toward the right...seem
like good examples of "cloudy" too.

Great shot. Thanks for sharing. (insuff. exp. to comment further :0)

Trichomes look good and healthy. Still not quiteb50/50 cloudy to amber. Probably wont hurt to wait for the weekend. Those sweet budz are going to do nothing but swell up more the longer you wait to see 50/50. Let the resin glands mature to their maximum. Potency increases tenfold these last few days.

Wasn't the target 15% max amber? More amber means more couch high. For all I read, amber looses a lot of potency...

...but you do not want too many clear either.

While there are a few trichs going amber, then presumably
there are more clear trichs going cloudy.

If this is not the case, then, yes, I suppose that a harvest is called for.

Good luck,

For all I read the ratio should be 15% clear - 80% milky - 5% amber. At least the most people aim for that.

I check a few other leaves this morning, and came a cross some leaves that had a higher ratio of amber than cloudy, but there on the otherside of the plant I viewed some that there was maybe 1 amber out of the whole surface area i looked over. The one with a high amber ratio are from buds that had been affected the most by the nute issues I had early on in their life.

SO I decided to wait till the weekend to chop. was going to water with plain ass water and let it dry out, watching the trichs VERY closely. I'm ready to chop but then again im scared... i want more weight to pack on but don't want to have a coughing couch lock high from letting it over-ripen!

I could be wrong but isn't amber loosing up to 90% of THC? In that case you will gain a bit of weight and loose 90% of potency...

Were not talking about letting these ak's wither away. The whole point is letting resin glads mature. Since these glads dont mature all at once. It doesnt hurt to ler a small % go amber while your letting the majority mature from clear to cloudymilky. Its a winning situation.
