You're vegging from now until you decide when it's time to make flowers. Whats your light schedule again? 18/6? 20/4? It should be at least 18 hours of light during your veg period, which starts when the seed pops.
I like to veg until the plant shows pre-flowers when the plant shows me that its ready to go, at which point I let her rip with 12/12.

Keep an eye on the new growth and look for that nice green color that your plants have right now. New growth does have a lighter, neon tint to it, but they will green up as they expand into full leaves.
You can go ahead and start a feeding schedule, but I think that's a bit overkill. My philosophy is to learn to read the plants, to see what they want, as they want it. If they look like they want to eat, feed them. If they want more water- and they will as they get bigger and bigger- give it to them. Dig?
My observation on RIU is that new growers tend to overfeed their plants, and that's definitely worse than underfeeding them. Overfeeding causes damage while underfeeding causes stunting. Burn damage cannot be undone. In lots of cases, applying the needed nutes remedies underfeeding.

You're going to see two camps, those who do as I do, and those who want their plants to be on a schedule. In essence, they want their plants to have a full plate of food constantly. Neither is wrong. Choose your style. Either way, you're looking to strike a balance between over and under.
Since you're growing in soil, you're going to have more leeway than people growing in coco or hydro. Organic folks like their soils to have a complete nutrition profile from the start, so they feed differently than you. What's nutrients have you purchased?

I see, thanks. I like the way you explain things. You sound very educated and promising lol.

My current light schedule is 24 hours. I am eagerly awaiting the day I don't need to go 24 hours anymore (for electricity bill purposes). Can I switch to 18/6 now, even with the 2 seedlings only being 4 days old?

I got the FF line of nutes: Big Bloom, Grow Big and Tiger Bloom.

And what about the 2 plants being older than the other 2?

Yeah just switch to 18/6 or 20/4. Doesn't matter too much which one, 18/6 would be easier on the bill, but you know... Cfls aren't the most energy hungry things out there.
The FF line works wonders for lots of folks out there... you should consider feeding the older ones lightly first. This means like 1/4 or 1/2 strength initially. Work them up to it. I don't use bottled nutes, I'm one of the organic snobs.. I feed with worm poop lol. So I can't really give you advice beyond the 'start it light' line.
You will have your answer here soon enough. Lots of people have taken an interest in your thread, its cool. :)

EDIT: since they will be vegging together for such a time, you can use your experience with the older ladies to determine how and when you feed your young ladies. By the time the older ones are ready for flowering, the young ones will be good to go too, a week or two difference in age won't really matter all that much. At least you can see what it equates out to in dry weight...

Honestly that big bloom(1st on the schedule) is the organic nute of the lineup, ewc based it seems so I would start adding that now , not much danger of burning there, its when you start adding the grow big you want to gradually introduce it. this is of course all my opinion but only prob i have had with ff trio was when i did not stick to schedule i had some deficiencies, if it does happen that it burns your plants, which i only get in flower probably partially due too the soluble, then just flush, nute burn usually comes on progressively in soil, hydro its a diff story but you have a lil play, just watch for burn in flower, overnuted flowers taste the worse... Everything looks good at a glance, like i said i would def start adding that big bloom

One more question: when lights go off, do I have to worry about the light slipping through or is that only crucial for flowering?

Flowering only.
This is why I was/am concerned about your walls. If she doesn't sense a nice division between night and day, she could hermie on you. This isn't a disaster, it just means you're going to be picking seeds out of your herb. At least then you will have your next generation of plants... But if you want the seed free nugs, look to put them in a light tight closet or something. Or make your grow area light tight so you want have to spend your time moving them around.

Just dropping by to bump the thread with some pics! Gonna start big bloom tomorrow when I can grab some pH strips. Also, need your opinions on water, as I don't really trust my tap water. I've been using "spring water" and/or purified water from Walgreen's and it's done good so far. Would also like to hear more about your FF nutes experiences, if any.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Your plants look good to me I think you just have a touch of new grower worry syndrome. And remember it's the bud we're growing not leaves.

Need more light when they get older
Like how much more light? :o Would another 6400k, 10.5k lumen lamp do the trick? I know I have to get a red spectrum for flowering later on...

Yes, definitely new grower worry syndrome haha. I just want to always make sure they are doing good!

You can't "overdo it" with CFL's man, get everything you can fit in there.
I vegged with 98w of CFL last time, and think I got almost 200 going now of mixed 5k and 2700k.

Ok, so 8 5500k CFLs and 1 6400k isn't enough? That's what I have right now.

I was thinking about getting just one more big 6400k bulb, but if I need more, holy crap! lol

thats why so many people operate HID lamps, HPS or MH throw out quite a bit of light for a single lamp. You need lots of CFLs to get the same output. Consider HID lamps, you can get them really cheap online...

Anyone know why this one looks all droopy? Only this one is experiencing it. The soil in all 4 pots looks real dry when I got home today, so I watered all until some water dripped out of the bottom. The last time I fed them was 4 days ago, so I guess it was time again. The new top leaves growing in also look brittle and dry, as you can see....

Probably just being paranoid. Gonna wait it out lol....
