Massachusetts prefers it but its not technically code which is ridiculous imo.
Welp, i just might have hit a snag. We have a home owners association here and i might need permission to do anything to the roof. Crap.

Wondering if i can get away with venting into the same room since its open to my bedroom. Hot air should stay up, and ill draw cooler air in from bottom. Ill know more when light shows up and i can check temps. Thank you.

Yup
So
If they have standard roof vents
Not ridge roof vents
You can use on and cap it with a six inch takeoff
Google is your friend on terms
As far as oval to round
You can adapt round pipe to make it oval on one end and round on the other. To reduce the need for extra fittings
And flex duct is a godsend
I hope your vents are what I suspect
If I can I will take a pic of one in my barn tomorrow
Weather permitting

Ok we had an ice storm so I’m not going out but
Look on your roof from the outside and see if you have any of these

this sounds like alot of work screwing around with vents and the roof, take a trip down to home depot go where the dryer vents are you should be able to find 4" and 6" vents there, read the instructions go pickup the appropriate sized hole saw for a drill punch a hole in the side of the building for the vent. itll be alot less hassle no mold inside the roof.
