New House, New Grow! Suggestions?

So my buddy and I decided to buy a house in order to keep any potential whistle blowing landlords away, and now I'm left with the task of setting up a 400 square foot garage. I've already installed 10 tons of air conditioning and I'm dying to get this thing started already. I'm trying to figure out how to get around 30 lbs per run, any suggestions?

any ac more than 6 ton should benefit for your given are 400 sq yard.
You can get idea of capacity of an ac required in tons from following formula:
For eg in your case 400sq yard area = 3600 sqft
Square root of (3600) divided by 10 = 6 tons
if you are really using 10 tons then you must check if your ac working properly.

The garage is 400 square feet, not yards. It's roughly 20x20 ft of usable grow space.

I currently have 15 1000 watters ("thinking about buying more lights.") and I'm thinking of growing trees, no nets or nothing, and also thinking about going the one plant per light route, any thoughts?

I'm no expert on this, because that's not my style of growing, but from what I know about lighting and growing in general, sounds to me like you have a realistic framework. With the right strain and the right pheno, 30 lbs isn't unrealistic. Not a slam dunk, but you probably wouldn't be spending this much front-end coin unless you feel pretty sure you know what you're doing, so I'm going to assume you do.

How high are those ceilings - how much headspace do you have to work with? How do you plan to vent the lights? The exhaust from 15K watts would make a plume that helicopters will see from Australia if it's not concealed somehow. Have you thought about that?

What's your medium, and your plan for watering/feeding and drainage? Does the floor slope?

Again, for choppers.... are you concerned about the infrared signature from the walls of the garage, or do you think the AC will keep the air temps stable enough? Even so, you would quite possibly have hot spots or hot zones near the ceiling due to all those 1K HPS bulbs.

What about odor control? One problem you sometimes see with large garage grows is that the garage doors aren't really very airtight, and odor can get out under and around them. Not usually a problem if nobody comes near the garage, but there's always the mailman, the UPS guy, the meter reader... or just a neighbor walking over to say hi.

What's your electrical supply situation? You'll be drinking lots of electrons. You don't have a smart meter on that new house, do you?

Good luck. Sounds like a lot of fun. All your house payments in less than a year. Way cool!

The strain I'm growing is called "Big Bomb" from "Bomb Seeds" (Heavy Yielder 600-850gm/m2). I ordered the seeds from Herbies for a small 4x8 scrog with 3 1000s, that i currently got going on in a 10x10 spare bedroom in my rented townhouse. I got a bunch of clones already rooted and ready for the new house, I'm just waiting to finish that scrog and then get myself a uhaul, and away we go. The ceiling in the garage is around 8 1/2 feet tall. Venting? There will be no venting, I'm going to build a leak proof wall directly behind the garage door basically enclosing the garage and converting it into a sealed room, in which I will be using lots of CO2. As for the helicopters, I'll probrably run the lights during the day as much as possible, which is easy during the flowering phase, but tricky with the long 18 hours required by the veg cycle. I'll also be lining the entire roof of the house, or atleast the entire portion directly above the garage for sure, with R30 insulation boards, which is probrably overkill anyways since I already installed two 5 ton air conditioning units in the garage, for a total of 10 tons or 120,000 BTUs of cooling power. :blsmoke:
As for odor control I currently have 3 carbon scrubbers that are almost as tall as 5 year old children lol, one of them is a 10"x39" and the other two are 8"x40". I'll just stand those up in the corners and run them 24/7. As for the medium I guess soil. I was thinking about buying into one of those fancy Current Culture UCRDWC Hydro Systems, and then I thought to myself; "Shit man... I can build that crap myself for a fraction of the price!" But I'm thinking about just getting a bunch of those 20 gallon fabric pots and just mixing up some Happy Frog, FFOF, and some Perlite, and grow myself some fucking trees, and just pray it all works out man.:hump:

P.S. - Here's the mobile and desktop versions of the link to the strain im using:

Looks like a great spot to grow now I'm just a newbie but like the other post stated seal the crap out of that garage for order leaks and rodent and insect. Insulate the walls and ceiling if u haven't already to let your a/c run more efficiently. If you already bought your lighting system there's nothing left to say on that put it together. However I would suggest running your exhaust even with a filter into the house main drain line into the sewers ( great for masking smell and heat). Next run a RO water filtration system from the closest sink. A couple of fans and humidifier or dehumidifier and paint those walls platinum white for reflection. Best of luck bro hope you yield double your expectations happy 420

All that sounds great but i aint gona be running any type of exhaust, im trying to make it a sealed room grow op with Co2 and all.

I use a couple 39x10 carbon filters on a much smaller grow. They work well but aren't magic.

Save up for a twister t4 minimum.

All sealed 20 x 20 with how many lights. Dam smell is bad I scrub and live in a log home and it danks up downwind and I blow my shit under the housrand plus I have an Ozone filter plugged in under the house. I don't breathe the ozone and I just have to use lowest setting with machine. It's remarkable but I hope the dear don't get ozone cancer. My little grow notice shoots air under house from sealed sun blazer. How close to harvest on that gooey one? Would you cut tops first?

run the ozone generator downstream of the plants and there will be ZERO smell coming out of that pipe. there is a place for carbon filters but I even used to exaust in the attic and set my ozone generator in the attic. I use a "flair" by econo air.

Am preparing my slef for something similar in the next couple of months, got the place already but just waiting for the funds to be complete..

I would start with 9x 600w then upgrade later on.
I know its not as big as urs but just to give you an idea how I am preparing on doing this, if you have any thoughts please share with me.

9x sunmaster 600w
3x 12000 BTU split
2x 20liter per day dehumidifiers
Co2 meter and controller from amazon

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B017847K76/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1466547131&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=co2+controller&dpPl=1&dpID=41JLM9ob8QL&ref=plSrch

8kw natural gas auto pilot

House and garden or canna nutrients.

I will be running

5x GDP
10x querkle
6x purple wreck
5x MOB Money over bitches
5x bubblegum
5x mk ultra

All from seeds and Ill divide them under my lights.

I plan on having NO exhust NO intake and NO filters...

1.2 x1.2 Growing beds of 150 liter of coco under each light.

Wish you all the best and keep it safe.

I dont think you will have a probleem from helicopters if you can keep your grow room cool enough.

My last run was 5x 600w in cool tubes with no insulation what so ever and helicopter was flying over my home almost everyday!

My grow room was 24c max tho!

My only concern is how you are going to vent the ac units heat !

Where I am planning on starting my next grow they dont have flir heli :)

So hopefully it will be alittle safer!

If you have a room above the garage use that as a lung room(keep it cold) then cycle the air from this room into the garage and exhaust back. The cold room will mask the heat from infrared. If not then place sheets of aluminum siding on the ceiling.

i see the electric meter and the electrical panel, are you going to install a sub panel?,, what size breakers?,, are you going to run romex across the ceiling?,, are you going to place the ballasts in a central location
what are your plans to handle all the amp load from all those lights?

Here's the panel
