Exhaust fan is too small for a 600w. 600w is too small for the grow space. What would be an ideal setup is having 2, 600w lights/hoods, and around a 400cfm exhaust fan. Mount your fan outside the tent to help keep temps down, and use insulated ducting for the fan exhaust to help even more.

Thanks for the replies, I do have a 2nd 600w hps, should I hang that in there now? Or wait till a little later in flower?

Cheers

Suggestion #1 dont post pics with your lights on.

1000+ watts recommend for that size of space.

Looks like some wonky genetics.
Cheers mate sorry about the photo with lights on,
I have a 2nd 600w ready to go in was just worried about power bill, but if I can yield substantially more with the extra light I'll go for it.
The plants had been heavily trained (supercropped, tied,fimmed/topped) during veg to achieve a low canopy and defoliated just before this photo was taken so thats probably why they look so wonky.

Cheers for the reply :peace:

Can you maintain decent temps with that exhaust fan with a single 600 hps? Don't add a second light until you have a stronger exhaust, it simply won't cope with 1200 watts of HPS. Also, I'd just stick with a single 600 watt hps over the 2 400s. Just keep your plants within a 4x4 area under the light and then upgrade later, starting with the exhaust fan.

Fan specs are 277cfm, venting out of tent in to roof space, what do you suggest I upgrade to. Thanks for the reply

I use a 600/660w in a 5x5 there's pros and cons, it's easier to cool in the summer but cost more to heat in winter, besides heating in winter I can't think of any other negative points?

I'm aware of the watt to size ratio but I don't subscribe to it, I'd much rather have the bud outside of the 4x4 square than not...
I find if i fill my 4x4 tent the plants are touching the walls it leaves little space for ventilation, with my 5x5 i can have 4x4 in the middle with space and them not touching the walls, there's also more room for heaters, dehumidifier fans etc.

850+ grams dried.
I've a 3 tents and lighting for them, out of all the gear available to me I've found 5x5 + 600/660w + parabolic to be the best all round set up £ for £.

You'll need a much more robust fan, even for a single 600w. You should be looking at 6" fans around 400cfm. And, like mentioned, only add another 600w if you've got no problem keeping your space cool, with lots of headroom with your fan speeds. When you do get a better fan, get a fan speed controller as well. Most of the time your fan shouldn't be running even close to max. If so, some more work needs to be put into controlling temps, like an ac.

Also, you'll want to extend your ducting to exhaust the air outside your attic. You'll get all sorts of humidity problems up there, like mold.
