New grower - PLEASE HELP

Hi I’m new to growing as I’m preparing to start my first grow , I’m a go big or go home kind of guy but I also don’t have thousands of dollars to spend. I’ve been doing lots of research reading books and watching YouTube videos all on the most efficient ways to grow good quality but also high yielding plants. This is the tent I planned on buying but would like to ask everyone here their opinions .

I live in Florida and I’m doing this grow in my extra bedroom, my house stays on 68 at all times so I also was wondering if I’ll need a ac unit for the tent? The bedroom is 8.5x8.5 and I’m putting a 6.5x6.5 tent in there with 2 600w hid with air cooling system. Was gonna do the lights on at night time to help with temperature. Anything tips or concerns?? Help!

With 1200 watts of HPS going I would bet that 68 will skyrocket in a hurry. Only time will tell for sure but I would imagine you will end up needing AC.

Even with my houses ac on full blast all day and intake/outtake fans ? The set up comes with cooling for the lights too. I’m a noob so I gotta ask
You can try, but you'll probably freeze to death before you cool the room. HPS needs mid 70s. My tent gets up into the low 90s in the summer from LEDs, and I live in the mountains. My Tripp Lite AC just died last night, so I'm in a pickle myself. I'm probably going to upgrade to a mini split.

Yes, even with central air. I have central air, run LED and had to put a window AC into that room. If your thermostat is in that room you will freeze your house out trying to keep the temp down and if its in another room it likely won't ever get the one room cool enough. I found for my situation a window AC hooked to an Inkbird does the job. Sensor hangs in tent and turns ac on and off when needed. Makes that room it's own little eco system.

Your asking for trouble, heat is gonna be a constant issue and your electric bill is going through the roof. You'll be spending extra to have spare bulbs on hand in case one goes out. Also that good deal kit is gonna have some shoddy components that you'll find are not worth the time of day. Do yourself a favor and research and buy individual pieces for a better deal. Start with a LED light and go big! Don't be afraid to focus your budget on a good light, then buy the tent size that matches the footprint of the light. LED's will run cooler and cost less to operate, your electric bill will thank you. Then buy a good fan and filter combo, I bet the fan in that kit is loud enough to hear in the next room. Research and find a fan with a low decibel output (quiet). Then make sure you buy a fan big enough to filter air in the room and not just the tent, that is if you dont want everyone to smell your crop. You say your a newbie then pick one strain to work with, you don't want harvest time to roll around and now you need to harvest the one plant thats ready but you cant cause the others arent finished and you need to use the tent to dry so now your wondering what to do. Pick one brand of nutrients to work with and learn to master it. Any brand of nutrients will get decent results, but mixing different shit will bring many unnecessary problems. You'll get consistency working with tried and true.

Going big in the grow space doesnt mean buying a big oversize tent. It means buying high quality equipment and going for the best results possible. You cant buy patience and common sense. Mother nature don't give a damn what you buy she'll do what she wants in the end anyway.

WAs trying to lean away from anything that involves the ac because I am not in a legal state and neighbors aren’t far . Are there small ACs specifically for grow tents by chance ? I’ve looked some up but don’t wanna wast my money on the wrong thing

I appreciate how much thought you put I to your reply bro seriouslu. You’ve made some great points and I’m in no rush to start a I’m gonna do research and put together my own set up rather then buying the kit which is probably like you said made of cheap components. 2 in 1 shampoos are always shit if you get what I’m saying

I would like to utilize most of the room even though yes, it is my first grow. Like I said I’m a go big or go home kinda guy . What would you honestly suggest ? The bedroom is 8.5x8.5 would rather use a tent due to having close neighbors and I don’t want anything stickin out the window. Smell isn’t a huge concern considering I have my medical card and smoke in my house constantly. Trying to spend more then 2k on the whole set up. I’ve already got 10 Girl Scout cookie seeds from ILGM and also have a germination dome set up and what not. just need the tent set up . Already decided what soil and nutrients I’m gonna use . Lmk!

Not sure of one specific to grow tent. Any ac could be used such as a window one or for discretion a portable one. You would need a way to vent the hot air from the back of it and collect the water from it.

For 2k you can get a sick led set up.

Plus leds run cooler and are supposed to work best around 80 so that helps a lot with heat.

I did quite a bit of research on smaller lights and ended up going with viparspectra xs2000. It covers 2x4’ for flowering which grows waaaay more bud than I was expecting.

And it’s silent and has a dimmer knob so you can leave the light in place and run it at half power for veg instead of jacking it up an extra foot or two and wasting all that extra energy running it at full blast.

Thank you everyone for the help , doing more research I see that the set up I originally posted at the beginning was absolutely taxed especially for the light set up, I took initiative and did research all day and put together piece by piece everything I needed but this time with LED , and it all is coming out to about 1500$ perfect !

IMO you might be better off going with some leds,it’ll be easier to control temps and you’ll save money in the long run.
