So wait for the month it isn't.

I'm not even to flower on my first grow and on my third light setup, you will just waste money along the way. Light is one aspect you do not want to skimp on.

Just my $0.02
I said this month cux i budget my money and this month bills next month is free money but i truly get what your saying but i just want to grow five plants and i dont want to skimp on lights thats why im here trying to figure out whst i can do with $160 for lights

You're not going to like my answer but I think $160 for lights for 5 plants is asking a bit much if you're not building a light yourself, just go with a T5 multi lamp setup for now for veg and "hopefully" get the proper lighting for flowering later on.

I'm just trying to save you some cash so you don't make the same mistake I did. I have a $400 LED collecting dust in a drawer and CFL's really aren't cost effective IMO after you start talking about more than two plants.

Again just my newb opinion.

They're not the best lights man but the mars hydro and similar will get you going for the price and you can later ditch them or do a DIY and swap COB's into them,. Before I would go with one of those though I would seriously take a look at the T5's RM3 has been talking to you about.

I think you need to take a step back and gather more info before you start buying stuff and growing. I started reading up on this Last summer and started my first grow this March lol. I have made many mistakes along the way and still with all the reading up I have done my grow is completely different right now not even into flower than it was when I started.

Don't stop learning, but don't rush, you need to have patience through all of this. Starting to grow your own is a huge commitment, and for people like me it's medicine and a better quality of life.

There's no magic perfect answer. You'll have to pick a horse and ride it at some point if you ever want to get started.

I have a 3x3x7 ft space. I use 825 true watts of CFL. I am a beginnner.
Is it effecient to use 825w of CFL? No
I'd be better off with a 600w HPS or a 400w LED; which is what I am deciding between for my next grow.

Can you use CFL's. Yes but for my 3x3x7 space it cost me $350 for lights. I should have done a $350 HPS/MH lamp with ballast for my first grow.

From what I have read online, In my 3x3= 9 sq ft space the most I could pull is a pound. I'd be lucky to get 12 oz.

If you are running a 4x1 ft space = 4sq ft you could pull 8 oz at the most. Most likely you will get 4 oz
:clap::clap::clap: Agreed:weed::leaf:
600w hps second hand from local hydro shop = $50
new 600w bulb = $75
then after a few months use the $$$ to upgrade to COB LES 3500k
