Your better off avoiding cheap Chinese eBay LEDs imo.

For 2x4 I'd do a 400w hps. You could also do T5, but you probably won't have as much light penetration. Neither of those will cause a huge jump in electricity usage. I know for me at least, the heating/cooling/dehumidifying of the room uses waaaay more electricity than lighting.
The mars hydro thats how much the original company selling it for

I'm doing my first indoor grow right now. I use the t5's for veg and mothers and I'm using 600 and 1000 watt hps in my tents for flower. I have a stack of Chinese leds that I occasionally use for veg if I run out of room under the t5's. In your space, I think I would go with a couple of 400 watt hps for flowering to get the most bang for your buck. I highly recommend a carbon scrubber and a good centrifugal fan also.

It's not the best vid, but this gives you an idea of the space for a 2x4 with a 400w

600w hps for 3x3-4x4

1000w hps for 4x5-5x5

I wouldn't recommend 1kw if you don't have the height to start them off first.

Pick an area thay suits your veg time, then chose your light for said area.

I think in a 2' wide space, a 400 will do fine, and will generate less heat to deal with than a 600. I use a 400 for a 3x3 tent and it works great

It all depends man. I have 4 three-footers in it right now.

Some strains are naturally short/tall and some people prefer more small plants or fewer large ones.

Starting from seed/clone makes a difference in size/uniformity too. You can typically pack clones in because they're all the same, but if you start from seeds, you'll have to accommodate your tallest plant so your light doesn't burn it.

Also, if you have plants packed in tight, your humidity control/air exhaust game has to be on point or you'll get molds and powdery mildew.

I aprreciate the links but thats out of my price range this month
So wait for the month it isn't.

I'm not even to flower on my first grow and on my third light setup, you will just waste money along the way. Light is one aspect you do not want to skimp on.

Good lighting, medium, and good water/air movement do a lot more for plants than what brand nutrients etc.

Just my $0.02
