I made that last night and it was very good. I added some fennel seed, anchovies and a good amount of capers. I didn't have a bottle of decent red open so it got 1/2 C chicken stock and 1/2 C red wine vinegar instead. Sorry no pictures it was late.

I came from a life/home prior to expiration dates. You knew something was bad by its' smell. God help you if you didn't shake the milk prior to pouring.
IKR?, I know Mom didn't pitch anything unless there was something seriously stinky going on with it. I'll swear the "G" in a secret conclave [Big Food, Big Pharma, Big Ketchup) concocted all those expiration date mandates just to keep the $$$ and company profits rolling. And you know that whole "toss it on the date" is so ingrained with me I have to seriously consider to toss or not when I look at that bottle of Wishbone that's been in the back for a loooong while. :hump:

LOL I was going to say same with drugs. I have old drugs because some simply don't lose their potency. I seem to remember a time when only hormones and other drugs that actually didn't last were labelled with an outdate. Then one day everything was. I was very busy during those years so my memory might be a bit off (out of date you know).

Sometimes I wish I could find an old Nembutal or Dexamyl, rolling around somewhere in some of my junk ;)
edit: A Sopor would be too much to wish for

Smartest thing you ever tossed in the trash. Opiates are necessary for somatic pain but all the 'codone family have a high euphoria side effect and lower pain relief, codeine or morphine unless you are anaphylactic, as for nausea use cannabis I hear it works wonders as an antiemetic :bigjoint:

Decided to mix and match my leftovers. Some Pork a la Arrabiata with some Tzatziki and quinoa tabbouleh, I can't find bulgar wheat anywhere. I would make my own but I rarely use it and quinoa is the perfect sub. The drops are Tabasco. I love some heat.

@shnkrmn best recommendation ever the NY Times cooking sub, thanks
