Need tips for new sources when you move across country

I just got out of the military and I'm looking to enjoy my freedoms again, but I moved to a new area and dont know anyone around here. Anyone got any tips on reconnecting with a source that wont come off as like "who the fuck is this guy".

If there is a college bar in your area I would go have a few drinks and wait for the right people to walk in. You will know them when you see them. Thanks for serving our country, good luck on your search
