Good Morning and Happy Father’s Day!

Recently start another run using 18 plants all together 9 in Promix mix with DTE bio live and the other 9 in a peat/leaf compost/perlite/bio live as well.

Didn’t have a fly problem till after the seeds sprouted so I swatted them all dead (maybe 15 at most) then I place a couple fly traps up which caught a bunch of them. Only to see this morning that the population has grew to at least 50-100.

I applied Dr. Zymes earlier today but not to sure if that will help. Pics are from today.
Any input would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't worry about it that much. Problem should resolve over 2-3 days likely. If it keeps continuing there might be an issue near area of the tent.

Tachnid flies also feed on plant nectar as adults, but in their larval stage, they dine on other insects. Hessian flies eat grass, while bot flies eat animal tissue. The most recognizable fly – the house fly – sustains itself on rotting food and meat while at the larval stage. The decaying matter is preferably peppered with human, pig or horse feces, if the house fly larvae has its say. As an adult, the house fly prefers sweets, liquids and rotting fruit. And that explains why the "fly diet" was never invented.

Taken from here.

If the problem gets worse then investigate around your area and in your area.

Well what I would be doing is trying to find the source, Something must of Died somewhere around there. Just sprouting your ladies would not cause that.

Good luck find the source and cure the issue.

Hang up yellow sticky paper traps. I've got 2 hung up. I was surprised too see all different bugs captured in short amount of time.

What I ended up doing was stripping out the tent, killing all the adult flies, bleached down the walls and floor. While waiting for the bleach to dry I dropped every plant in 90F Dr. Zymes dip (1/2 a cup per gallon) for a solid 2 mins to and top watered to make sure I got full penetration. Then places them on a flood tray till the dripped dried.

Monday this all went down (took forever)but I must say now being Wednesday I’ve only seen 1 adult that was killed as soon as it was identified.
I understand that I may have just fixed my adult problem and not the larvae cycle tomorrow’s day 3 so we will see what comes of it.

i don’t think it’s a black house fly look different under 25x
