Well like most things I usually do a bunch of searching until I find something to help with what ever the issue of the day may be, but this one has me a little stumped and unsure.
The other night I was inspecting the plants and notice some circle looking marks on a few leaves so got out the loop and went in for a closer look and to my surprise a moth like flying insect came out from somewhere on the plant and landed on the wall...I instinctively swatted the thing dead and it kind of turned to dust for the most part, but there were a few wings left...so I figured I better do a good look over of the plants...yup some more spots that look like leaf miners markings, but were mainly just circular (1-3 mm) and had very very small black dots of something inside the circle damage...the black dots were so small I could barely see them with the loop. While looking at the dots on 1 leaf I noticed a very tiny light green worm (maybe 1 mm long)...chopped off the leaf carefully and put it in a zip lock baggie and continued my search for more damaged leaves and removing them...no more worms were found.
I think I have cleaned all that mess up and the plants didn't seem to skip a beat...they are all still growing nicely, but I did notice a couple more damaged leaves today so they were removed and 1 more worm (bagged up too)...then I notice this bug laying on the tote top...dead.
I went looking online to see if it was a gnat, but most pictures show them dark/black bodies...this one is pale yellow or almost white and black eyes, long legs (most have broken off the one in the pic) so I'm kinda stumped of what it is.
I grow in hydro, but I do have a couple clones in soil/solo cups and 2 mothers in soil that I just put into flower a few weeks ago (been growing them for 6+ months) and I usually nuke my soil as soon as I bring it in the home to kill anything live in it then I add perlite from there...so I'm not sure where this 1 bug and 2 worms came from or what they are...the soil has been sitting for months as well.
I'll try to get a pic of the worm tomorrow, but they are so small...thats why I put the whole leaf in a zip lock...figured I would let it continue to live and see what grows from it.
Any ideas?
