Im needing help choosing the right grow light for my setup. I plan on using a 3x3 tent in my spare bedroom. Im wanting to maximize yield and bud quality. Need help choosing a light that can maximize the available space of a 3x3 for both veg and flowering. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.. not really wanting to spend more than 500$ unless its a must. Been looking at the sf-2000 and the ts2000 but thought there must be something better? Besides the sf2k only flowers 2x4 area so Plz help

Datcoldboi I'm a fan of the Black Dog LED line of lights, I've got 2 for my veg and flower tents. The 400 watt version will be perfect for you.

It's about $500 more than you wanted to spend but you'll be getting the most powerful 400 watt light on the market. I use the 200 watt in my 3x3 veg tent and the growth is almost perfectly timed for clones to go in my flower tent after harvest.

I'd check out Timber too. I'm sure there's a discount code out there somewhere. I don't have any Timber lights, but they're nice. I have all HLG for LED's.

Just a tad over your $500 budget. Better production than what you'll get for the money "store bought" LED wise, AND you'll be growing with HPS like all the cool kids do :)

I dont think i want to go the HID/HPS route. Not sure how it will affect my electeicity bill. Im just looking to buy the best light for the money. Most bang for your buck if you will, but not necessarily the most expensive.

A 315 CMH, or this HLG is another option. If you order from HLG use code "RIU10" for 10%off.

Why is that light so expensive for 400 watts?

I am new to led so maybe I'm missing something but that doesnt seem like a very good deal.

Black dog is still only 1.56umols/j in 2020 when most are hitting 2.4-2.8umols/j for half the cost or less.

It doesn't come close to been the most powerful light on the market. Not even anywhere in the top 100 most powerful lights on the market.

This 4VS would be a great lighting option for a 3x3 as would a 600 watt HPS or a 315 CMH (my last choice because it's a little under powered IMO, better for like 2.5x2.5 feet.)

That's what I was thinking. Seems like a ripoff to me.

I know the op was asking about a 3x3 but I could get a zues pro or something similar for the price of that blackdog.

Get what you're saying here, but still don't understand how people are like, "$1000 LED? Or $200 HPS? Well, the HPS is $20 a month more in electricity, so let me drop $1000 on a light instead..."

That's a loooooooot of months worth of getting great buds with hps....if you can deal with the heat HID still wins in my book.
Just my 2 cents.

I do agree that if you can deal with the heat HPS is definitely still a good option. If it comes down to the cost of producing a pound being $100 or $170 then I don't really care about the energy costs as much as just flat out yield per square foot. If adding another watt gets me another gram outta that space then it's good. lol
