Hey guys I just recently transplated my clones to bigger pots and the lighting has been 24hours ON should i switch the lighting to 18/6 now with the bigger pots for veg stage???

Should I have my exhaust and intake fans going when its lights out?

Yes you can, there's a lot of good ones, but I've heard a lot of great things about "BlackStrap Molasses"...And it shouldn't your pH

I gave my girls Grandma's Unsulphered for the first time this week and they got 6700k spectrum cfls... man they are exploding with new growth. They'd have been done vegging by now if I had those bulbs in there from the start. Friday I have to buy a timer for sure cause my girlfriend and I are spending the weekend at the beach.

One plant got some pretty bad MG lockout or something that burned the bottom 3 sets of fan leaves so I flushed her out and clipped her dead leaves. She was all perked up and happy in the morning with new growth at the cutting sites. I hope I didn't stress her too bad, she seems much healthier now.

I'll put up some new pix later tonight when I get home.

Hey, my friend has 2 plants (one is about a week and a half old, and the other about a week, there both growing fast though), and he started off the grow with nutrient enriched soil (Miracl Gro Time Release). The bottom leaves are starting to burn pretty bad, the ones above if are still pretty good. Is there anything we could do to reduce the amount of nutrients in the soil? Thanks

ok, so i have my plants under CFLs for seedlings. they are in rockwool cubes and in a little plastic container from ikea as a humidity dome. when i checked on them today one of them had some white stuff on the top of the cube. what could this be? also the cubes seemed wetter than before so i took some water out of them. good move? bad?

Hey SLB I have some pix of my girls at 4.5 weeks old. Notice the growths on the one the I had to take the lower fan leaves off of. I now have some green slime / crud on the surface of the soil. Any remedy suggestions?

You think I can start nuting? I'm grown under 8 - 23w CFL 6500k bulbs and 4 - 23w CFL 2700k bulbs. 18/6.

I need to harvest by the end of the year. When should I switch to 12/12 to meet this deadline?

My buds look a little pathetic. Any advice?

Complete noob here. I have a 3x3x6 cabinet that I would like to turn into a grow cabinet.
1.) I have done a lot of reading and decided on going with HPS and MH combo and was wondering what you would say about this light for the setup.

Also, would you recommend me paint the cabinet white or use mylar to line it?

hey i wanted to try and start a single plant to two plants grow, i was wondering what was the best way to do it, how many lights do you thinkg i would need or how strong of a light would i need, and how big did you think it would be

i would be growing it in soil in my closet or something like that, probably use some nutes, not sure what kind to get tho, was also planning to use foil or some white thing to cover the inside of it to reflect

it will be my first grow, but i have done very much research and i have an idea of how to build it, i just do not know if they would be the best

dont use aluminum foil it makes hot spots. plan white paint is better..or white poster board works good too. As for your light depends how much money you want to spend. you could most likely get away without much ventilation with cfl's but if you want to put a hps you're going to need to buy good fans too. that should give you something to think about...and yea you should probably use some nutes

This is male right? I just put into flower two days ago so this seems strange to me. Is that new growth, a preflower or an opened sac? Thanks!

about how big of a fan do you think i will need for 1 or 2 plants to grow properly

also i was wondering if you knew anything about useing a HID kit to grow with

From what I've read you can use it during each feeding. You mix 1 tablespoon per gallon and you can feed during during veg and flower. Just make sure it is unsulphered molasses, it will say so on the bottle.

Can I apply epson salt solution foliar in late flower? I have a mg deficiency.

i want to grow in Rubbermaid containers.. how many plants per gallon? how often should the sprayers turn on (Ez clone tips) how often should i change water in lower resivor?

My friend whom is a legal grower was like you. I think foil/paint would be a lot of work, unless you have a good day to do work and buy some white paint/ reflective material. The lighting depends on how big your plants are going to be. However, roughly the average descent sized plant needs about 5000 lumens per square foot. Which is about 40-50 actual watt CFL. By actual watt I mean that is how many watt's it actually uses. For example on a cfl bulb package it will say 40 watts, but only uses 14, or something like that, 14 is the real watt number. This is probably really confusing for you so I will re-fraise that. You need about a 40 or 50 watt cfl per square foot. So say your plant is 36" tall, you would need about 3 40 watt cfl's.

"I just don't know if it will be the best"
1) Proper lighting (discussed above)
2) Air circulation. It would be good to have a fan blowing gently on plant(s), and maybe an exhaust system if possible.

"Growing"
1) DO NOT USE NUTS FOR AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS. Make sure the plant is 3 weeks + to be safe. Also never use nutes more then once a week for sure. My friend did his once every two weeks.
2) Remember is the soil is moist, don't water.
3) Make sure plants are a safe distant away from cfl. Cfl's can burn plant depending on the wattage. If they fell heat from the cfl they will stretch towards it.

Just an average fan on height blowing the plants gently would be enough.
