Need critique on my 1st time setup Please!

Hey guys this is my first post ever. After reading and researching alot I decided to go for it. I bought a Stealth Hydro kit and when it arrived we decided it wast big enough. We ( me and my girlfriend) made 3 larger replicas of the purchased one. Instead of 6 plants in one we decided to go for 2 large ( i hope) plants per tub we are using 6 10" pots in 3 tubs.We have 2- 20 gallon reservoirs which are connected so really a 40 gallon reservoir. We chose to go with Dutch Nutrients. We are using 1000w HPS Air cooled.I also added a fan to cool my ballast even though its outside the room ( an electrician I work with said this will make the ballast last longer so I said why not) A Co2 injection system set to 5 mins every hour of light. And an oscilating fan with a pretty cool breeze setting( it gives a strong breeze then slows almost to a stop then repeats) I designed my own reflector for my flouresent lights for my little ones and to eventually keep a Mother. I will take any advice or tips that you have for me. I am attempting to grow Blueberry/Kush. I plan on 18/6 grow and 12/12 Bloom. I have 20 seeds getting ready now ( 3 have already sprouted!!) I'm not to helpful when it comes to hydro growing because I've never done it, but overall it looks like a decent system. The only thing I could help ya with is to tell ya to try and get those floros a little closer to your plants just so they don't stretch before you get em in their permanent setup.

Very nice setup. You built what i am aiming to do in a few moths!

all sounds good to me, the only thing i will recommend, and is extremely important, is odour control. it's not called skunk weed for nothing, so invest in a carbon filter asap.

nice job on the DIY too, i am new to growing but i wouldnt buy a premade system that i could easily constuct myself with a little help from RIU!

Good set up! I echo what mal_crane said; get the light as close as possible without burning the plants! Good efforts! I'll be watching!

Thanks for the advice guys. I thought about odor and will eventually invest in ozone or carbon filters but for the first grow im hoping that my room is air tight enough to control some of the odor.I mean my house smells as if I grow anyways from all of the smoking. lol

i wish my first grow had looked anything close to yours. nice job! but just so you know, you cant really make your room airtight. you need to have some sort of ventilation. and once you have ventilation, you get odor.

you said your house already smells of pot so if you dont think itll be an issue then go for it. the smell of fresh buds growing is quite different than when theyre burning. my last grow had my whole apartment plus the hallway and stairs stinkin'. And that was just one plant!

I wouldn't count on it, especially if you live around people who do not smoke.

Hey AlphaMale... how's your grow doing bud? hope it's blooming

Hey I decided to re-do a few things with my operation. I expanded now by also adding a 4x2 flood table under 4 - 4ft flouresent lights for my veg cycle. So now my room has a mother plant area aveg area and the origional set up will be used for flowering only. Check out the new pics and my babies!! The ohers I had I let die so I Started over. I eventually plan on building a cloning area i the room too. I want it to be ready for production, Mothers,Clones, Veg area and bloom room all in one place. I am aiming high for my first grow! Let me know what u think.
