you guys recommending the dell's ever have one? i have worked on about a hundred of them ,when you buy a brand name you are buying the name not the parts, they use the cheapest shit they can find to put in them, the question was what can he get for under a grand .and buying the componets and building it yourself will give you a pc 10x what you can get buying a dell or compaq or any other piece of shit with a name on it.doing editing and want high def movies what i posted will do you for few years and be upgradeable something the store bought doorstops won't be able to do! tool your prices are amusing you say pay 100 for a bluray drive and only 120 for a mobo ? and you list a 80 dollar monitor with shit for resolution ,gonna give advice make sure you know what your talking about.and what's with the 3 sticks of ram? that is tri channel which most boards won't support .
I would never buy a dell also I don't recommend buying a brand name built PC

1 - Blu-Ray burners here cost $100 not including tax. The $100 before tax include Sony, HP and Asus Blu-Ray burners.
2 - Motherboards can be bought for cheaper
3 - I never listed a monitor so ASSUMING that I said $80 for a monitor when I never said about one means nothing. Read what people say instead of puting words into people's moth that they never said
4 - I typed in 3 by accident. I ment to put 2. Also there are boards that support Tri channel.
5 - Most people that I know have newer TVs so needing to buy a monitor isn't a must do thing. I didn't have to buy one since my TV supports VGA, HDMI, DVI and S-Video input

Finaly I will say that the parts that I bought for mine were whole sale prices. I pretty much live just down the road from a whole sale computer parts store so I didn't have to pay for shipping fees.

not sure why you would buy a good processor than plug it in a shit board but hey sound like you know what your doing!tri-channel is old almost none of the new boards support it fyi. yeah your right can hook large tv up but then your 100 dollar video card ain't gonna cut it.Your say cpu 150-200 than suggest an I7 like to know where that is!!!!!! i paid 329 for mine.new egg beats about every one's prices got free shipping on most things and are real good at returns .my bad on the monitor but your post was on a previous page and couldn't go back to look.and you can get a more than sufficient power supply for about 80 bucks i believed i listed a corsair bronze certified.
