I want to purchase a desktop PC but I'm not at all educated in computers and what the difference between them is so I could use some advice.

Heres some things i'm looking for

-Awesome graphics so I can watch shows and edit photography and video.

-Fast processor so I can do lots of task at once.

-Less than 1000 dollars or around that range.

-Easy to use.

Any suggestions????

Would be much appreciated.

If you already have a monitor I'd suggest building your own PC. Even if you don't you can always find a cheap used one. The monitor doesn't really matter. The Guts are what you need to future proof. I bought my PC for around 2300 dollars. Its a beast has all the bells and whistles. It even lights up different colors that I can program. Currently running rasta colors. That said, without all the pointless lights and sliding spaceship like pieces, I could build a comparable tower for 700-800 dollars. The newegg site is my site of choice but there are competitors out there that will give you a better price. I just use newegg because I've used them before and they have my shipping info. Look up Desktop PC checklist and purchase every component. There are tons of DIY tutorials for putting a computer together so I won't go through it. It's not that hard. Its as easy as mounting a few things and connecting some wires. A mac is a horrible choice as they don't give retailers any give on the price. You can't get a deal and they come standard to keep you buying new machines ever few years. Make your own cheap and future proof your PC.

yer putting one together might be the best for you, new egg is always been my place too, and its better to get a fresh Os with out all the trial software you have to deal with when you buy a ready made and if you don't mind torrenting Windows you will save your self like $200

Don't go cheap on power supply units and get in the habit into using a grounding wristrap when you're touching the component. And go AMD.

Agreed but I'm not a big fan of AMD. Based solely on personal experience while they tend to be more stable and last longer Intel chips outperform.

your still gonna have to get a mouse ,keyboard and monitor but can find that any where try craigslist. but for a nice monitor your looking at about 170 more, several video's on how to build the system and about anyone can do it.just never force anything. What i posted is just a quick run through i'm sure can find better deals if you shop around but new egg is kick ass and i recommend them.

Build your own. Here's roughly you should spend on a rig

- CPU = Around $150 to $200+ range (don't go cheap on the CPU and get either a Quad core or a 6 core. Also for intel go i7 and for AMD for AMD Socket AM3+. If the CPU is on sale fr a faster one or one with more cores and around the same speed get that one instead)

- Mother board = $120 (should have USB 3.0)
- Power Supply $200 to $300 range (750w to 1,200w range is best. I would go with a 850w and a Corsair brand. Make sure its fully modulated)
- Case - $50 to $100
- Ram - $100 range for 2 sitcks
- Hard Disc Drive - $100 min (if you go Solid State Drive $1 to $2 per 1 GB)
- Disk Drive - imo go with Blu-Ray burner since they are $100 and play Blu-Ray ofc.
- Video card - min $100 and that should be a min of 1GB DDR3 and have all the video connections if possible.

you guys recommending the dell's ever have one? i have worked on about a hundred of them ,when you buy a brand name you are buying the name not the parts, they use the cheapest shit they can find to put in them, the question was what can he get for under a grand .and buying the componets and building it yourself will give you a pc 10x what you can get buying a dell or compaq or any other piece of shit with a name on it.doing editing and want high def movies what i posted will do you for few years and be upgradeable something the store bought doorstops won't be able to do! tool your prices are amusing you say pay 100 for a bluray drive and only 120 for a mobo ? and you list a 80 dollar monitor with shit for resolution ,gonna give advice make sure you know what your talking about.and what's with the 3 sticks of ram? that is tri channel which most boards won't support .
