My tent grow weekly First grow

Good Plan, I wish i was harvesting this week, lol. Its all down to personal preference/taste when you harvest and what kind of hit you want from it. I waited last time till most triks were white and only some amber. I was after the heady high rather than the stoned effect. Id be lying if i said i could tell any difference! The smoke was nice but i was always gonna enjoy the fruits of my labour.
Yeah man, get a loupe for next time so you can check all round the plant rather than just a specific leaf or bud that has been removed. Have you thought much about your harvest, where you'll hang and dry your buds?

Its fate, its gonna be a brutal crop that knocks you sideways. You could never plan for that to turn out!

i have been reading up a bit on harvesting and i have read that with hybids you should aim for most of the trics to be milky and only have a few amber.

i am filling my water but right now just in case they need to be watered tomorrow, i really want to don the jason mask on Friday but i will see tomorrow,

anyone know if trics on different parts of the plant change sooner than others should i check near the top or bottom or mid bud?

i will be buying some seeds over the next few weeks as i now know i want a different strain

as for drying them i am going to use my tent for the first week it has temp control and i can control the humidity in there, he tent i will try to keep at 50% humidity and 60* temp and in complete darkness as much as possible, i will be looking into making a drying box for the rest of the time it takes to dry which i will try to keep at the same climate. my plan is that it will take 10-16 days to dry.

thanks again for all the support

the more time wont hurt them, its more than likely that instinct that says go longer is right...

but you got this, everything has been good so far, so no matter what you do, your not screwing up, IMO.

Best of luck, i will be seeing the results when i wake up, first thing thats for sure...

Thanks OB i am going to water the other 3 now
she was the oldest before they went in to flowering and now looks the most ready

also i have seeds if i ever want to grow this strain again then this will serve to give me an idea on the optimal time to harvest Trinity have >90% milky trics did not see any amber today. the next harvest will be when i see 2 amber trics together and the next at 25% amber and final 50%.
hopefully this will be over the next 2 weeks

Any comments well come

no problem OB i think that pic might become my avitar after friday, a bit of coral draw/ paintshop and it might even end up with a rider with a uk flag (when my main PC is running this laptop is crap)

i have watered the 3 others and trying to sort some were out to put trinity till friday.
so i will be putting on the hockey mask jason style and my first victim will die by my hands on friday (13th)

have fun

quick update i could not find ant were for trinity so i put her in a cardboard box, made it light tight and its now in my cupboard. to night i will remove the box and then cut her down in the morning before light on 10.50am,

when i first cut her how much of the leaf mass should i take or do you do that once she has dried a bit on the butchers hook ?

do you take all the leaves off in one go?

these are things i am not sure of. as soon as my kids are in bed tonight i will be looking in to it.

any help hints or tips you know i always appreciate them
and thanks for the comments and tips you lot

you can do either, I have heard for maximum flavor you leave everything on, and trim later- but its much messier and hardly noticable, I would take off all the big fan leaves and wait till the rest dries up so its brittle... but idk- there are many ways, you cant screw that part up too much...

Im always happy to give my ten penneth. Its not advice, just what i did. Ill go on and tell you what a mate does also;

First it depends on weather you're gonna try and make hash frm your green material. I personally dont, but there is a wee hit off the smaller trik covered leaves. I keep them and either use it as a replacement for backy or when i run out of bud.

OK, I work it branch at a time, I remove the larger fan leaves and discard. Then with a medium pair of scissors I trim all the leaves off onto a tray on my lap. I try and get the scissors right into the bud to remove as much as possible. I hang the branches then obviously and I spread the leaf material out to dry on a tray. There's normally a bit of bud in with it cos after 3hrs you get a bit weary, lol.

My mate leaves the smaller leaves in place and gives out his shit like that. I strongly disapprove, I mean who the hell wants a bag of bud and half of its leaf! If anyone gets any of me, its 100% bud.

If you plan on making hash, keep all the green material even the larger leaves.

Hope this helps mate, its all down to personal choice

thanks for the advice OB and DJ,

i have also read a bit and with your advice i think i will be ok

last night when i was moving stuff around my room i knocked over my plant that was in a hempy pot. i noticed today it was split on the main stem so i cut it down trimmed all the leaves and put it in a shoe box on top of my monitor its nearly dry.

i don't expect much from it as it was taken from a plant only about a month or so ago it has trics but none are milky yet.
i have run out of smoke so its better than nothing i hope. lol

i am feeling very guilty about the girl i have captive in the box and what is in store for her tomorrow.

for my trim i am thinking of making honey oil i know the principal of it and have make a working prototype using a syringe and i have found that SWAN super Clear butane gas has a low impurity. so the only thing i need for a full version some plastic or metal filter. i will try this with the first lot of trim from trinity if it works and it a nice smoke then i will be doing it with the rest.

any one tried Honey oil?

i will update you tomorrow with the weights of the harvest and how much is trim ect.. and some pics.

thanks again
HAVE FUN

i will be adding pics later as my computer is not playing today i can not upload anything but i will use the laptop later to post some.

i could not find a hockey mask, lol

right, i have finished the trimming, took 2.5 hours, trimmed most of the leaves off,
i was surprised at how sticky she was, i had to scrape my scissors off a few times to stop the leaves sticking to them. i ended up with

trim 40g in expected more trim than this but she has lost a lot of leaves over the last 3 weeks.
bud 144g

i expect that i will lose 70-75% of the bud weight taking in account of water content and stems if this is so i will end up with about 35-40g of bud off this plant. which goes past my low expectations of a total yield of 2oz (14g per plant) and near bang on what i wanted which was 4oz (28g per plant), but we will see

plus about .5g of honey oil, the trim needs to be very dry like powder dry. when i do this i will post some pics of the process even if it don't work.

i have put about 100g> in to a box hung from the stem the other 40g i have put in a shoe box on top of my monitor to quick dry probably take 2-3 days to dry.

also with me leaving the other plants in the room growing, i am thinking of giving the one i think will still be there in 2 weeks a quick shot of pk 13/14 just to see the effects on that one plant. it should have time to flush again be for her harvest.

what do you think?

update/pics later thanks everyone

sooo, the deed is done. Yeah its an arduous task - I enroled the wife for my second harvest, lol! Sticky as hell M8.

Here, your conversions are all to cock, lol. 28g is only 1oz, not 4!. You took off about an ounce and a half, which by my book is pretty darn good. I havent had more than 2oz off a plant yet. But I expect I will this time, they're phat man.

Looking forward to seeing the pics and the honey oil process. Good luck with the drying process and will catch you later
