My Shed...

Well... since we moved into this new house... i have a shed in my backyard that i think would be great for growing like 3 plants. There is a vent that goes straight to the outside in the corner of the shed, and i made a 3 ft wide box that encloses that corner. I was planning on putting flourescent lights in that box, and watering them by hand, they would be directly ventilated to the outside. However, i would like to know what to do about clones... or if there was a different way of telling the sex before the males start to pollinate.

P.S. How many, and what kind of flourescent bulbs would be needed, and i have heard that watering with a bluberry/water mix makes the weed bluberry flavored... idk if this is true... clarification would be great :).

Peace Out,
Err0r

i would use compact flourescent cfl's they are inexpensive around 10bucks and id buy clamps with sockest in them u can get all of this at lowes they have 45watt that produce 2600 or 2700lumens each but they are more in the blue spectrum for veg.go to homedepot and they have 150watt cfl's that have more red spectrum for flowering u can put these lights every cuzz there so adjustable

Mmmmk thanks, also... do these lights hook up directly to a wall jack, or is wiring needed? Also links to the product would be helpful :).

sheds are not the perfect location for a grow since police can search them in most countries without a warrant! so rather look for a place in your basement or attic to grow;)

it is not just about how much lumens you get but about the light range really, 3000lums are nice but not worth a dime if in the wrong light spec!

those CFLs have to be cool white/ 6500K ones, 5000K ones are not good for anything really and 2700K ones are only suited for flowering. but flowering with CFLs isn't the way to go either really;)

Well... i dont think i would have to worry about the police searching it. They would have no reason to be suspicious :). Thanx for all the help so far :).

Peace,

Also... I will probably go with the cfls for veg, but what kind of readily available (buy at home depot, etc) light that plugs into an outlet would i use for flowering?, Im a No0b :P

normal household CFLs need a E27 socket, that is a normal standard socket. there are odd smaller once that go with E14 sockets and bigger ones that need a E40 socket but the one you buy at home depot will go with a E27;)

If you can do it in a basement... how bout a potato cellar? I'm worried it may be too dusty?

Thanks for the help...
I actually milled that one over already... but the room is just a temporary home for the babes while I'm setting up my attic. I will go threw with lining it if I must...but I'm wondering if they'd be strait for a few days...if only to save time and effort.

thanks

The only part of young plants that would be affected by dust is the leaves, mist them a few times a day and you should be good to go. Sorry we jumped your thread ErrOr.
