My Outdoor Grow OG Kush is Flowering Early

The Local Sun chart shows these pretty girls should not be flowering till the third week of August, but clearly they are on the way. Should I change nuts to promote flowering or continue with nutes for Green?

The girls look good. You had the summer solstice on the 21st of June so the plants have watched the day shorten for over a month now, they are just about on time to flower. The girls react to the shorter days and not just to what a sun chart says, once your days start to shorten the plants will flower whether the days are still 16 hours or 12 hours. I live in Costa Rica now where the days do not change much at all but after the 21st of Dec you can grow outside and they will veg until the days shorten, if you start a plant after the 21st of June they will flower as soon as they are mature enough. Each strain is a little different in the length of time it take to trigger flower after the days start to shorten. Personally I would start treating my girls for the flowering and forget the veg cycle nutes now and go with your flower schedule. I hope that this helps some. Happy growing and good luck with harvest

One of my relatives is experiancing this with Sannies Herijuana, This being odd because in michigan the majority of the plants don't start flowering until first week of august?

Had I have known about this I would have ordered some o.g.too

I am adding CNS17 BLOOM every seven days now and see that just a few of the bigger fan leaves on the bottom are turning yellow. Is this normal at this time in flowering. I read on this site that this could happen, but more towards the end of flowering. I will post photos.

must be the strain cuz i got three og kush going and they were the first to begin budding out of all mine. they began flowering about two weeks ago. them, my two recons, and one white rhyno are the only ones budding but the og started a week before them. and they say recon is a real early starter and finisher and the ogs started before them. oh and by the way northern cali is where its at stop wasting time growin down there in socal and come up north... just a thought.

I talk a lot with friends living in Northern California about the advantages of growing there VS here in San Diego County.
I have a nice, private, and sunny spot for a max of four plants.
I purchase primarally sativa clones from a trusted local dispensary.
I veg 3-4 clones indoors 3 times a year in time to flower outdoors and harvest in March, September, and November.
This is not a business for me and I harvest about a 5 and 8 ounces trimmed well dried.
Different srtains produce differently depending on genetics and the weather.
My best success was with some purple kush clones set out for this past Spring's harvest. The nugs were not huge, but considering the flavor as well as potency; WOW!
I do like the way these OG Kush girls are turning out. They are healthy, no signs of mildew, and each pland was easy to train to have multiple tops.

Hi Skilled, I do agree "when they are ready they are ready. Here in Southern California we do have issues with some strains that go into flower as soon as they are taken outside. This OG I am flowering right now had only 15 days total after the clones were cut under t5 lamps 24hrs a day. We saw flowers starting right away. This photo was recently taken after 4 weeks outside.

Hello, I am six weeks into flowering and no sign of maturity. Clear trichomes and only a few flowers are red. I am growing in dirt so planned a 2 week flush, which would have me flushing now. A guy who grew OG last year close by contacted me and it took 11 weeks for buds to mature enough for harvest. If I go that long the girls will be HUGE. I am posting photos from yesterday

Congrats on the girls they look great, the flowering time on those will probably be long (10 wks +), I thought I was 6+ weeks on mine but after checking the photo log I was flowering 6/15/10 that puts me at 8 weeks with 2 at least to go, I'm also in the dirt, colas are frosting nice.

plants will flower when they mature fully no matter of the light cycle
ummm not true.... u could grow a plant indoors for years if u dont change the light cycle. unless ur talking autos but hes not. plants have to experience a long enough period of darkness to begin budding. so please if u have no clue on what ur talkin about dont even offer advice.

Hello southsacboy916, What is really odd about this strain is that they started flowering in early July outdoors when the days here in S Cal are long.

I have grown a couple of Kush varieties, and they are some of the earliest flowering plants there are. I had a few OG's that finished in august once. This far south, the days don't get nearly as long as they do further north. Where I am, the 21st of june is around 15 hrs of daylight. Better to grow more on the sativa spectrum down here, you will get a lot more veg time meaning bigger plants and bigger yields.

I still grow indica too, this year they started to flower early in July. Looking to harvest those in a few weeks.

it started flowering early because you brought it out of 18 hours of light (or more) inside, to alot less outside. When you bring plants out of indoor lighting to outdoor, you have to slowly get your plants down to the same light cycle as outside, then they won't flower when you put them out.

Flowering nine weeks as of today. There are some scattered flowers turned brown and trichomes are about 20-25% opaque. There are just a few amber trichomes. I am starting my 7-10 day flush today. I know some of you may say I can let them go a few more weeks to increase harvest, but I like the flavor and the high from sativas harvested a bit early. I am flushing with reverse osmosis H2O and will when I see trichomes at 25% amber. I am posting some photos from this morning and will post more on harvest day. Thank you all for following this thread and most of all THANK YOU for helping me with my first outdoor grow.
