Lowryder 2 grow

Basic information
Ok so some basic information about my grow first i will be growing lowryder as i don't have much space, also it is autoflowering which is a plus, well i think it is anyway. I'll post in here even if my grow starts to go bad then maybe someone can learn from my mistakes, but i hope that doesn't happen!

Grow space.
For my grow space i have an old cabinet which measures 90cm high by 45cm wide by 40cm deep. I have painted the inside of it white as that was the cheapest option!

Lighting.
For my lighting i'm gonna use cfl's due to the small space and there cheaper. At the moment i have five 20watt cfl bulbs in my cabinet, which i'm hoping is going to be enough light for a couple of lowryders. (My cabinet isn't quiet light prove but i'm hoping that wont be a problem as i'm growing autoflowering and the cabinet is in my wardrbobe which is light proof.)

Air flow.
I have two 60mm pc fans at the bottom for intake (wired to old phone chargers.) And i pc ehaust fan at the top for my ehaust fan (wired to a 12volt adapter.) I don't have a carbon filter as i thought i would wait and see how bad the smell was when they start flowering, if i have to i guess i will make a diy one later on.

That will do for now! Oh and below are some photos of my current setup and a very bad diagram of my wiring at the minute. All comments and any advice welcome!

This is my first grow too! So anything could happen yet. Hopefully all will go well though! Erm my bulbs are kicking out 1200 lumes each so that's what 6,000 lumes in total. Oh and there 2700k warm white bulbs as well if that's any help to you. Thanks for dropping in hope your grow goes well too!

I'll update later on today when i have checked my temps and stuff.

Happy growing!

Update day 2 after planting.
Yesterday i planted my germanated seeds (in some avarage compost from the garden centre.) Two lowryder 2 seeds and one swiss mix seed which i got free with my lowryders. Planned on putting the swiss mix seed in the green house but some how i have got them muddled up so i don't know which one it is! Guess i will have to wait until i can pick my lowryders out.

No sign of them coming though the soil yet but then have had a few problems with temparture over the last 24hours. Just look at my temp and its at 80. Only have one of the intake fans working at the moment though, plan on fixing the other tomorrow so hopefully my temps will come down a bit when i have both fans working.

I gave them a little bit of water yesterday because the soil was looking really dry. (Tap water stood for 24 hours.) But after just checking the soil looks really dry again! I know your not really meant to water them at this stage, but what am i meant to do?! Maybe i should just give them a little bit of water later on any advice anyone?

Actually if it under 18/6 light circle or more ,it will b dry quite quick ,well that what l've notice with mine ,but i try not to feed them nothing and keep my (every 3 days routine) and they doing just fine. i guess if they got really thirsty ,they will show sign (keep an close eyes cause in what ive read the 1st 2 weeks is very important) .... but for newbi like us only time will tell loll

take a look at this i've been tryin to follow that guide and so far so gud

lowryder grow guide

will put some pic on 2morrow..

Gud luck and keep it green

YOu are eventually going to need more lights than you have. The box looks pretty sweet. I would not worry about 80 degrees. My cabinet runs in the upper 80's and lowryder yields are pretty good so far at about 20 grams per plant. My Lowryder was pretty stinky after about 35 days so you will definitely need a filter. Good luck. Lowryder in soil is pretty hard to screw up, so you will get some smokeable bud. How much depends on how good your light is and how well you can vent off the heat. Ventilation is the key to a good cabinet grow!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting a shitload of light in a small space is easy, but venting off the heat while staying stealth is not.

Update day 4 after planting.
At last one of my seeds has popped out the soil, it still has the shell of the seed on though, was wondering if i just leave it or try take it off? The other 2 don't look too good though no sign of them poping though the soil. Temps still at 80, still havn't got my other intake fan working! Watered them eairlier as they looked like they needed it.

Here's some pics. (I will always put them in the same order so people know which plant is which.)

Did you germinate the seeds in anything first or just put them in the soil?

Hmm supp dude looks like you're off to a good start, tasty lowrider! Can I make one suggestion? youre 5 CFL's do not add their lumens together, they just spread it out more so you have roughly 100watts of heat being generated in your space. So with that being said, Home Depot has whats called a fluorescent canopy light. With some minor dissasembling you can have a 8500 lumen or 10k lumen floro in the 6500k range which is actually working beautifully for my girls, even in the veg state
. Give it a try and you wont be dissappointed

I was going to take some update photos but i forgot so will do that later on. Finally have got my other intake fan working so hoping my temps might go down a bit. 2 of them still no sign of them popping out the soil, so germanting 2 more lowryder seeds, see if i have more luck this time.

Do the outside tempratures affect you much? It was hot all day here and I couldn't get it below 80. It's still almost that now almost 1am.

I don't think it effects them that much can't seem to get my temps any lower than 80 even though i have 3 fans running now, is 80 ok for temp or a bit high? I thought it was maybe a bit high due to the fact that my soil always seems dry. I dunno though, opinions anyone?

Well if the soil always seems dry you just have to stay on top of the watering/ 80 really isnt all that bad. Of course you could always just use frozen bottles and rotate them around, but it's a hasslehoff...hahaha just made a joke:joint:

Mid 80's is okay for lowryder, but 70's would be better. Sorry to hear about your germination issues. Perhaps your upper layers of soil are drying out too fast and killing the germinated seeds. I have had great success placing the germinated seeds in jiffy pellets in a tray covered with clear plastic. Comes in a kit at Home Depot. Kind of like a mini greenhouse that keeps them moist. I plunk the jiffy pellet into soil when the roots start to show and they take off every time!! The kit was $4.00 and would hold 16 pellets. check the link.
