Thanks Tim.Yo CK,
Look its subjective.
Personally i'd leave it a good while longer. 3 weeks sounds about right to me. There are still a lot of clear trichomes in your closeups. Barely any milky or amber ones.
You want a good tasting smoke. Not a harsh or green tasting one. Wait a good couple weeks. Promise you.
It's the hardest part about growing right now. It's a real test of patience, because of how pretty and good the flowers smell. We just want to chop and get it over with. But you'll regret it if you harvest in a week or two.
Right about now is when flavour, aroma, and potency intensifies, and becomes more complex. Phenotypes really express themselves, and show character etc.
Don't rush this process.
Tbh your pics the other day, looks like they've had more than enough nutrient.
But personally i never go to just straight tap water this early. Especially using coco coir. It'll likely do more harm than good.
I'd be tapering my ppms down.
Maybe aim to have your waste reading 400ppm by mid next week? Then 200ppm by the week after? Then come harvest week, instead of nutrient your only feeding water. I don't recommend you "flush", only taper.
I make sure a few days before i harvest my waste is reading the same ppms as my water. Then i let the plant starve itself of water for a few days before i chop. I believe it helps with smell, and a slight increase in resin.
Your plants right now have done their jobs. They've vegged themselves into a large enough plant to support a full bloom. Let them use the rest of their "bodies" to finish. They're ripening right now.
The plants are past using nutrient to grow bigger (vegetate), or pack on flower size. They're naturally metabolizing themselves right now.
Your plants have old age. They have lived they're lives as nature intended. If it were wild your flowers would be full of seed.
The plants job is done. It's an annual plant, and is on its deathbed. Let them die.
The buds right now are sinks. Every bit of green on your plant is feeding your buds.
Taper the nutrient back. 200ppms by harvest week. Wait until they look 95% ready. Then straight water for 3 to 5 days. Dry the pots right out. Harvest, hang, cure, done. Smoke up.
That's how i'd personally do it.
Just go by how you feel though...I find cannabis ripeness, and harvest time is more about the connection between the plants and ourselves.
Go with your instinct, and what the plants are telling you.
Only take on board what others like myself tell you. Every grower has their own way, i guarantee you.
Bare in mind though, breeders guides to finishing times are usually quite exaggerated. 7 weeks is an extremely fast strain.
I'd personally add 2 weeks to this. Probably 3.
I bet the breeder specifies 7-9 weeks? Well id be aiming for 9. 10th week being harvest week.
Good luck with harvest CK.
The wait is almost over.
Peace, and happy smoking.
So just to be clear I was feeding 20ml Bloom and 6ml micro. You saying on Monday I should have fed 10ml and 3ml. And next week 5ml bloom and 1.5ml Microflora before clean water. If I don’t get a ppm of 200 with those ml which one do I take less of to get those ppm then. Please explain the concept of ppm reading vs how to dose my water.
