Nice. What wattage light?

Have you considered mounting the filter to the ceiling to both clear up some floor space and vent the hotter air from the cab? Not sure if there is enough room with the light there but just throwing it out there...

yeah i am also curiouse how to seal off cracks, cracks from the door right? br!ck cool setup how many plants you puttin in it?

any ideas?
this is what i use *see pic*.. i paid like 3 bucks at home depot its called a acrylic latex caulk plus silicone, basically jsut a window sealer or bathroom shower/tub sealer. It was the cheapest thing i found that worked 100% and is easy to use. heres a hint-have a little bowl of water with dishsoap in it and keep your finger tip wet and you can use it as a trowel to smear it and push it into cracks without it sticking on your fingers. 1 small tube basically did mine but i bought two cause there cheap and handy :bigjoint:

Mine is very similar. I have my filter at the top of the cab and vented out the bottom. Just flip that whole thing upside down and you're in business.

Yeah, that could work too. It just makes more sense (to me anyway) to clear up growing space and exhaust the hottest air out of the cab by having the filter up high.

This forum should have a ideal 400w minimum input maximum output spec grow room build.
All in one thread.

YES! mount the carbon filter to the ceiling to exhaust the hot air and use your fan only on the exhaust line. looks like you are pushing air into the cabinet which is not good. Pushing air in, aka causing positive pressure, will make air pass through any little gaps of the cab and smells wont be contained. If you are pulling air out, aka creating negative pressure, every little bit of air will pass through that filter and it will keep your smells in check.

Passive (no fan) intakes at the bottom and exhaust at the top. heat naturally rises so the natural convection will help your exhaust as well. Don't forget light traps on your intakes so your girls get true darkness... little bits of light during flowering can cause hermies and you don't want that!

depends more on the canopy size than the actual number of plants. The 400 you have in that cab is probably going to be enough of a problem to keep cool without going bigger... I would use that to test drive the cab and then go from there.

I think you said you ordered AF beans? I don't know how much research you have done on them but look into pot size vs plant size. it is my understanding that the plant will get roughly as tall as the roots are long. I don't do AF, so just look into that. A friend did one in a 6" tall pot and he got about 2 grams off of it! I think 3 or 4 5 gal's will do well in your setup though.

Rework the fans and filter stuff and then let us know what temps look like after a few hours of running. you may have to vent that hood separate from the grow space to get under 80F.

im gunna give this setup a test run for the heat factor my seeds came in the mail today so i got them germinating
OK i had my carbon filter on floor of box and it was reaching temps if 85 degrees now i went threw the trouble of mounting it above my fan now i have a steady temp of 84.1 with doors shut do you think ill be ok ?

Depends on how you are measuring it. If you have your temp gauge shaded from the light and out of the direct path of airflow and roughly at canopy height that is probably an acurate reading and you MAY be OK. Mid to upper 70's is ideal and 84 will put a hurtin on many strains unless you are using a sealed chamber and co2... obviously that is a different animal! Im not sure what your outside temps are in your neck of the woods right now but if this is your winter and you are keeping you house under 70, then come summer time you are going to be having some problems for sure. A good goal is to try to stay about 5 deg over ambient temps.
