I understand if you are on the mission of growing in a non medical state and need to cover your foot steps, but seeing a family member get caught up in some situation where they could possibly do time goes against all code of ethics in my opinion.

Maybe you missed the part about her habitually groping my junk in the tub when I was a boy. Between her and my mom, I had more sex by the time I was 12 than an adult ladyboy dancer in Bangkok.
So, I grew in her barn, and she probably ate cat food for a year, if she ate at all (come to think of it, she DID lose weight, which she should thank me for, really), and might have been cold at night with the heat turned low. Went to Gram's for xmas for the obligatory get together. Shit got ugly after about 15 minutes. She and mom started fighting over mom's bf because he's been doing too much "handyman" shit for grams and nothing seems to ever be getting fixed. Then it was the divy of the food stamps. blah, blah, blah.
Haven't heard anything from the police for over a month. After mom left (but not before she squatted and pissed on Gram's favorite rug), Gram said she was pretty much certain I was responsible for the grow and she said she wanted to be paid back for all the cost and trouble. We yelled at each other pretty good for about a half hour before we worked out a deal for me to start another grow. I insisted it wasn't me but that I could do one. She wanted half but I told her she could have 10% and be grateful. We eventually settled on 20%, but she has to move some of the product at the senior community center. Some more details have to be worked out.
