My Girls......first grow tell me what ya think

First Grow How Is It.....
Got this in a journal entry also so ill be sure to keep posting along the way

17th day 4 1/2" tall

temp kept at 78f-82f and humidity at 40%-50%

The setup:
-3 blackjack and 3 jock horror both from nirvana
-400w hps for both veg/flower on 18/6 4am-10pm schedule 15" away from canopy
-fox farms happy frog soil in 5gal container
-feeding tap water boiled to clean every 2-3 days until there is runoff ,I have general hydroponics nutes flora series(not using yet)
-a/c unit and fan blowing on plants for some part of the day

Well this is my grow pretty basic but trying, in your opinion how is everything looking any changes do you think i should make????....to me i think the plants look a little small after 17 days and the stems look a little weak probably due to the shock in begining...

any help im all ears.......thank you


the first pic imo is the healthiest one i have others that dont have as many leaves or not as wide of leaves but plants growing at differen speeds seems normal to me?

the second pic is of a stem probably the tallest plant i have...does it look thick enough also notice how the leaves pointing up a little is that normal?

yea dude its not slow I felt the same way but if you really go look at other peoples logs closely youll see the people that have much bigger plants after 17 days its because they are using hydro or they have started from clone..you might be able to get your light a little closer cause they look maybe a little stretched but maybe not - either way its fine.

also some people say dont boil your tap water you can kill some benifical stuff, you just let it set for 24 hour so the chlorine evaporate, definitly check your water ph you likely need to bring it down.

also about the leaves pointing, the way they are right now shows a happy plant so thats what you want to aim for

Thank you for the pointers.......the only reason i boiled the water is because i heard about salt build up, i dont have a ph tester tho gutta go out and get one but untill then what makes u say the ph is high....the boiled water? Also I had the lights at about 18-22" above the canopy most of their life and thats when they grew most of their height, noticed it looked to be streaching and just recently dropped to 15" hoping that works.

also i just put more soil in my pots burying the stems trying to give them a little bit more stability....will this be a bad thing for the plants?

thats what i do, leave about 3 inches of soil out of the pot and fill it in as it grows makin a sturdy trunk

so hows this goin so far bro? im kinda watchin around for nirvana grows... im at a loss when it comes to deciding which strain to get. you have a couple unusual strains there. keep postin more!
