My First Grow: White Widow and White Widow x Afghan Kush x Black Domina. 400W DWC

ahhh. yeah, you don't want to keep that rockwool sopping wet. If you have lots of airstones then it will still stay plenty moist down there.

A few more showing up for the party!

FUCKING GANG BUSTERS!!! lol

hey bro, put something around the plant stem to keep the light out of your hydroton (and reflect back to your plants)

They just keep coming!

So I'm going to do a res change tonight. I started noticing these dark spots on the leaves yesterday, I think it's from when I top-fed it before the roots started popping out and some of the nutrient solution splashed onto the leaves. The spots were never yellow as far as I know. Should this be something I should be worried about, with roots now I'm not top-feeding anymore.

Any suggestions for EC level tonight with the nutrient change, using RO water and FloraMicro and FloraBloom? 'Will also be adding Heisenbergs tea to this res, the last one only had a little bit poured through the hydroton when the clones were put into the net cups. Currently the EC is around .85-.9 since dropping the water level 2". It started at .7.

Well, you are currently under feeding them as is evident from their yellowing and necrotic spots. See how the interveinal areas are yellowish? Classic magnessium deficiency. Lack of nitrogen and micro nutirents. Why would you be feeding them bloom meds now? They need floro grow or whatever it is called.. I don't use that line but they need nitrogen now, nitrogen and micro nutrients, not a bloom formula. This is pretty straight forward dude...are you in bloom? no, your not :)

I don't know what EC, but I would say around 800 ppm using the KaCl scale. Increase your nutes from what they were before, increase by 50% or so. keep your PH bellow 5.9 to help with micronutrient uptake.

Cheers,

Cheers,

The nutes I referenced are the classic Lucas Formula. I think I'm using the correct ones, GH Micro and GH Bloom are used throughout when you are using the Lucas Formula.

I will bump them up to full strength though if what I'm seeing is signs of underfeeding./

Thanks!

ahhh the Lucas Formula. I always hear about that, some people swear by it, some swear at it. I dunno though, any formula that doesn't include enough nitrogen is suspect. Your plants should be dark green. i mean, yours don't look horrible or anything, but they are definitely in need of some feeding.

So I just did a res change, sterilized a new bucket, added 2 gal RO water, 16ml GH FloraMicro, 32ml GH FloraBloom, and 10ml CalMag+, along with 2c of Heisenberg's tea.

PH mixed out perfect at 5.5, EC was 1.8

We'll see how it goes.

Been battling with her over the last few days, trying to find the right nutrient level.

I was under, then I was over, etc...

Things are looking better now, new growth seems okay. Should I remove the badly damaged leaves?

EC is around 1.3

that is a good EC. Pinch off the growing shoot, check your PH and EC then do not touch the plant again for 7 days. no peaking, no checking out the roots...no nothing. just leave it alone. She will be fine on water level.

You have levels where you need them, let her do her thing.

Not sure I'm going to top it, but I will leave it alone for a week. Now that the numbers are good the new growth looks green, everything seems to be going smoothly. I'm leaving for 4 days for the holiday tomorrow night, so will adjust the PH back down tomorrow afternoon and hope for the best!

edit: well, I thought about it and went ahead and made my attempt at FIM'ing it, we'll see how it goes!

nice. I'm a big fan of the fim for the first couple of training. If you take your time its not that hard.

congrats man. You will soon be entering the explosive phase. My plants seem to take a week or two to get to where your are but they will start doubling in size every week. Prepare to be shocked; DWC is fucking awesome! Your plant will be fine for several days.

So I'm not going to bother adjusting the PH before I leave, if's risen from 5.5 to 5.8 in the 5 days since the res change, so it should be good until for the next 4.

So I came back from the long weekend (plant was alone Wednesday at midnight to this morning 2am) and she looks great. PH was at 6.1 when I came home, EC had raised to 1.7 but after topping off with plain RO water it went back to 1.3.

I FIM'ed it 6 days ago, and I think you can see the results of this in the first image, it seems the plant has responded by creating 8 new "tops"

Planning to do a res change in the next few days, the addback is almost equal to the reservoir at this point, will probably do it Wednesday.

Still seeing tiny burnt tips on the leaves, so might drop the EC to 1.2.

She's a solid 10 inches now, so I'm hoping maybe a week more will put her in the 18" range and I can start flowering at that point. Does that sound about right?

edit: also found 12 Qrazy Train seeds, 6 of which look viable, the other 6 look immature, in some bud I picked up from a dispensary. I think that might be my next crop. Is there anything I should be worried about in bagseed like this? I'm positive the strain the seeds came from was TGA Subcool Qrazy Train, but I'm not sure if the plant was pollinated by a male or another hermie, or if the plant hermied.

Res change today as planned. The last res lasted 12 days and needed no PH adjusting, was 5.5 12 days ago, and was 6.3 this morning.

2 gal RO H20 (tested with EC of 0.00)
10 ml Cal-Mag Plus (brought PPM to 210)
10 ml Flora Micro
20 ml Flora Bloom
EC 1.25 (PPM 850) PH 5.5 no need to adjust

no tea in this res yet as I just started brewing the new batch today.

It's been 3 weeks of veg since I got the clone, planning to throw her into flower either Monday or Wednesday. We'll see how she looks on Monday and I'll make that decision.

Noticing these rusty spots on the new growth. In person you can almost see other spots where these might be forming, looks a little shiny in spots. Any idea what could be causing these or how I can fix it? I had rust spot problems before but they were mostly on leaf edges and adding CalMag and upping nutes solved it. These seem to be spots in the middle of the leaf.

She's a foot tall now, can see a few preflowers, first ones formed after I FIMd

Here's some better pictures of the progression of those spots.

What the hell is going on here?

First pic is yesterday again, next 3 are from today...

looks like a calcium deficiency to me. Its definitely a micro nutrient deficiency. WHat are your total PPM's? Looks to me that you need to raise them.

I'll say it again man, there are allot of people that feel the lucas method is bullshit. I mean really, why would you limit the amount of nitrogen that your giving a plant in its vegetative state?
