So yes im going soil .. i have spent the last 3 weeks researching only HYDRO set-up, routines, maint.

i have the ATF -mother in soil( I call it frog soil) Forgot the brand but its a organic mix seems to be good stuff drain well but hold moisture good so far.

I have 2 clones that im going to be putting in 4gal. pots like a test run before i can get clones off the mothers.

Before i purchase a 1000watt switchable ballast, with the melonhead cool tube for 300.00 bucks at my hydro shop includes 1 hps bulb

scroll up look at my flowering room and size is it so much lol ... i know that like never a factor but looks like im going to have 6 plants in this room at a time!

Ventilation will be covered by 2 - 6in. Vortex inline fans. So i should have enough air to cool it one used as a fresh air vent and another hooked up to cooltube and room.

so thats the update i think im getting a really good deal on the light and 2 fans. she has me at 600.00 and thats all i have left to buy.

Still have not sold the computer so no flowering light and cheap venting!!! lol.

Im planning on starting a grow journal since this grow room build forum is almost underwraps!!!!

Soil is definitely a better option for a first grow. Very forgiving and much less complicated. Someone mentioned Fox Farm products. This is a great option. Ocean Forest potting soil is fool proof. It's got everything you need for a good month of growth and their flagship trio of nutrients is great organic juice to boot. I use their line with flaming results. I had all but forgotten you started this thread; I'm glad to see things pick up for you :D.

Thanks dude now just waiting for growth lol and some cash to buy a light and fans. Ya thanks for the tips on soil. I saw all of fox farms products and ocean forest, i bought something similar to it from the local hydro shop can remmeber the name but it has a big ass Tree frog on the front. Ya still lookin into nutes for soil im wanting to go the organic route, ill look into that flagship trio.

Ya im back and ready to hit this thing hard lol

By "flagship" I meant their top sellers. The bread and butter. The names are : Grow Big, Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. And that soil you bought is Happy Frog potting soil, if you did get Fox Farm stuff that is. Good to see some enthusiasm :D

Yeah I use Grow big, Big Bloom and Tiger bloom, those are the main ones that you need but for a little kick in flowering I bought Beastie bloomz, and Cha Ching. I am also a firm believer in FF Soil. I use Ocean Forest, and from all the problems I have seen useing shit soil or stuff that is "like" FFOF I will stick with FF unless I go hydro.

Subbed so I am keeping an eye on your room! Can't wait to see what you come out with.

Thanks dude i plan on using fox farm soil and nutes!! Thank you for the tip on what you use i have been trying to figure out what good additives to add also during flowering and veg. with fox farm main 3 soil nutes.

have u used open sesame, kangaroots, microbe brew at all just curious if there worth it....

or is grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom with the beastie bloom and cha ching enough or is there anything else you might need to add

and i have the tiger bloom feeding chart up and it say to sledgehammer flush inbetween veg./flower also once inthe middle of flower and 2 weeks before flowering ends

is sledgehammer a product or procedure lol

I'm jealous, what a sweet grow house opportunity. Plus, was that an in-ground pool I saw on the first pic? Man, what a life.

i am looking to build my own mini green house in my basement. my basement is unfinished with cement walls wich i figure will keep the hole room cold when the ground freezes. my basement is the only place i can grow in so i figure i gota make it work. i have 6 plants that i have grown mostly outdoor but the season is wraping up soon and there too small to yeild but i want to keep them alive through the fall and winter. i cant afford a legit "room" but i want a step up from a fishtank. i was thinking about building a freestanding "dog house" looking structure only bigger with heavy clear plastic as the walls instead of wood. can anyone tell me the best way to set this up. this is my first time growing but they all look pretty healthy so far. there about a month and a half old and roughly 18 inches tall. 2 of them are sour!!

I didn't get the open sasame this time. But next grow I will use it. I simply follow the feeding chart put out by fox farms. It is funny cus they know damn well what you are using it for cus the ferts follow the life of most indoor weed plants! LOL Just keep it simple for now. I love seeing people doing 50 different fucking things to their plant and they can't put their finger on what is wrong! Keep it as simple as possible so you can diagnose problems quicker! JMHO

Well dude there is a ton of info i have gotten in the past couple of weeks

Ok u need ventilation fresh air and somewhere to put the stinky air or filtered hot air. also a reg. stand fan in your grow room to circulate the air.

So im taking you want to build a structure in your basement which will stay cool thats good. 75*F is legit.

well if you are veg. your plants to grow them light are on 18 on 6 hours off

when you want them to start producing buds light on 12 hours and off 12 hours

Lights: Well HPS lights are for flowering and flouresent, CFL, or MH lamps are for veg.

the flowering room in the 12 hours of dark make sure it is light tight with no light leaking in.

Tell me more on the space your working with and how big you want your grow room and what you got to work with pictures are awesome and really help.

but Lights and Vent are the 2 main things u need.

More plants require more lights and vent.

like i am using 1 - 1000watt HPS for flowering for 6 plants and have 2 6 inch inline fans giving fresh and exhausting bad air.

for veg. i use 4ft flouresents with 6500k light spectrum at 40watts a peice

Soil seems to me the cheap and easy route to grow

hydroponics are nice and good for mass production in small places.

But if you dont have access to a ton of electrical breakers and water supply than i would go with soil

so much more info but if you want to know more just ask......dont want to make it super easy for you when you have this useful site like rollitup.org
