My first clone

I took this picture when I came home for lunch.

The boys at noon.

This is the last holdout #5-1. She has started to root so I will plant her this weekend.

This is were they go after the hps turns off. Well 15 min. before. You can see how the boys are growing faster than the girls. I'm tring to keep the girls on a slow grow under the tubes untill the 400 watt has room to grow them big.

The last holdout #5-1. She finally went in soil today after 19 days.

Here she is in the soil.

A red sleeve to show shes a girl.

Finally under the flows.

2 pics of the boys they spend as many hours as I can get under the hps. About 11 hours then about 7 hours under the flows with the girls. I plan to veg them until I pick the best one. I will save him as a father for a bit. The other 6 will veg until most are 12". I will then flower them until 1 week after they show their pollen sacks again. Then it's harvest. I'm guessing about 2-1/2 weeks to harvest.

All 9 females are rooted and 7 of 9 males. The 2 males I lost was do to my own haste.

So my sucess rate is 89% not bad for a first try.

Height of males:
M1 4.38"
M2 5.25"
M3 5.25"
M4 3.75"
M5 3.00"
M6 6.38"
M7 4.75"

Height of females:
1-1 1.62"
1-2 1.50"
1-3 2.38"
3-1 2.75"
3-2 3.63"
3-3 2.50"
5-1 1.63" The Last Holdout
5-2 2.50"
5-3 2.00"

I am very happy all my females are past the hard part. So I have 3 clones each from 3 different female plants. Plant 3 cloned the fastest. Plant 5 was slow.

I will use rockwool again the next time I do this. I have a 100% sucess rate in this.

Day 22 for male clones.

Today's heights:
M1 4.75"
M2 5.50"
M3 5.50"
M4 4.50"
M5 4.00"
M6 6.25"
M7 5.50"

All their roots are very good.

Today is harvest day.

The Harvest Leaves on left were part of the cuttings. Leaves on right new growth.

i know this will be a small yield but the experience is priceless.

Well this wraps up my first clone. I will still answer posts here but this is the last new one here.

I'm keeping 3 mothers and putting 6 clones in the 12/12 room under the 430 hps.

You can follow then at https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/77942-my-first-grow-23.html

The 3 in the rear will be the mothers, the 6 in front will flower tomorrow after a repot.

Thinking of repot, I'm gonna go :joint::hump:

Well done RandyRocket.
I only just found your post here and as I'm attempting my first cloning (4 clones now at 7 days but no roots showing yet)
I've found it most informative and helpful.
Many Thanks + Rep for you.

hey dude maybe u can help me with this
i took a fresh cutting and i peeled some stem back and i let it it in a cup of water with some super thrive in it, then i put the cutting in a pot of soil that has been saturatedwith the ater w/ super thrive in it. i mist the plants once an hour andi mist a dome and put it over the plant. will this root? i have no rooting solution whatsoever and im just trying to find out if this will work.

You said Randy that you were growing out some males and also some females? Where do you put your males so that they are not going to contaminate the females ? Or were you growing the males for that particular purpose?

Where do people grow out males, or how, just to collect pollen for later use in cross pollination??
