1) PH of tap water: 7.2

2) PH of tap water after leaving to sit for a full 24hrs: 7.7 (0.2MS & 100PPM).

3) PH of Run off: 5.6 (1.3MS & 900PPM).
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

The EC of your run off looks fine, I'm a little surprised at the PH tho? I would have expected it to drop maybe as low as 6 but 5.6 seems a little too far?

That said she looks to be in good shape now that you have transplanted her, certainly not getting any worse. Also, she should really start drinking a lot now, so as long as you ph your feed to 6.5 each time your medium should correct itself. What are you feeding her now? And at what strength?

If you can wait till the weekend to take clones, then I will post some step by step pictures for you, as I will be doing a bit of cloning myself on Saturday and will have a camera with me.

Hey there Trickky sooo happy to see you avatar.
The curling (over watering I reckon),rusty spots, yellowing, pale leaves & crusty leaves are spreading by the day but Ill be adding Epsom salt soon (with or without nutes?), finally we can resolve this magnesium problem.
Im feeding at 1/4 strength but next week Ill be going up to 1/2. When it comes to watering Im never sure if Ive watered enough its a 15Litre pot do you think 5Litres would be enough, I think all this time Ive been overwatering. And Id absolutely love for you to post those step by step cloning pics Im looking forward to it. I have my pruners, clonex rooting gel, rockwool, root riot, propagator, formulex, & greenfuse (root) at the ready :blsmoke:

Thought Id post Dr Vons answers for all to see (not that I have a big audience ha ha).

First off you need to add 4 TBS of dolomite lime(garden lime) to your pot/pots and work it into the top layer of soil--this will bring your soil PH up to around 6.2 to 6.5 you may have to add another TBS in 2 weeks but a check of the run-off will tell. A 900 PPM reading before transplant tells me that your nutes are a little hot but not bad in veg----Since you transplanted them I would feed with 600 ppms and you also need to mix in some chealeted form of micro's.----You can get LILLY MILLER BRAND that has all micro's plus b1 in the gallon for 8 bucks. Make sure to feed with every-other watering and allow 10% to run out the bottom of pots.(helps with salt build up and also lets you know your pots are getting ample watering---make sure to let the soil dry out a little before you water again. If you spend a lot of time with your plants you can let them get to the point of where they just barley start to sag from not enough water-Then the next time you water you can feed 8 hours before the time it took to dry out----Make since???---anyway your plants should bounce back within a week and resume vigorous growth in 2....----By the way------who is the avatar pic of???.

In reference to the above post I thought It would be a good idea to post my reply here incase any other grower is in the same position as me.

This is what I asked DR Von:

I have pure Magnesium sulphate (grain powder form) at the ready would it be ok for me to use this instead of dolomite lime? If so would 1 table spoon be enough?
Lilly Miller chealeted form of micro's? I checked it out unfortunately I dont think we have that in the U.K. would you be able to point out something universal from a popular brand from say ebay? (sorry I dont mean to make you do the work for me).
In the future Id like to be able to identify problems & solve them the way you did, so would you be able to briefly explain how you can tell what the plant is deficient in from analysing the run off results & by looking at the pics I posted.

Thank you doc.

The girl in my avatar is a super model from Australia named "Gema Ward" (does alot of modelling for Prada) shes absolutely gorgeous isnt she

REMEMBER IF ANYBODY HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ADVICE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Thanks fellas.

Oh and another thing, what did the doc mean when he recommended: "chealeted form of micro's.----You can get LILLY MILLER BRAND that has all micro's plus b1 in the gallon for 8 bucks" what exactly is this?

Ok... To keep it simple, as far as plants feeds go, Chelates are organic molecules which have a metal Ion bonded to them, say like calcium. This is done to make the Metal Ion (Calcium,Iron, Mag etc.) more easily absorbed by the plant.

Most quality fertilisers employ this process of chelation, but some don't.

As for Micro's.... Micro nutrients are. Iron, Zinc, manganese, copper and there are a few others but my memory is not what it used to be!

Secondry nutrients are, Sulphur, Calcium, Magnesium etc.

And Finally Primary nutrients or Macronutrients are, Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, Carbon etc.

Ok,
1, Clonex
2, A little clonex is all you need (in a seperate container)
3,Select a branch 2-4 inches long and cut.
4,The cut branch.
5,Remove the lower 2 nodes (4 is better but 2 is just fine) I cut the leaves off but leave about 2ml of the branch rather than cut right up against the main stem.
6,Dip the cut end into the clonex making sure to cover the cut nodes with clonex as well as the bottom of the stem.
7,Slide into the medium (I find root riot cubes simple to use and get a 95%+ success rate with them.
8,I snip the ends of my leaves to reduce transpiration and speed up rooting. You don't have to tho it's just an old habit for me.
9,Into the propagator with lid on. I keep the lid vents closed for the first 2 days then open one for the next 5 days by which time they will be rooted.

Job Done :weed:

Ok just to note,

When cloning, I find it best to take a cutting, and put the cut end straight into a glass of water. I then remove the lower leaves under water so I can minimise the chance of air getting trapped in the stem and killing the clone. Once the leaves are cut I take it out of the water and put it straight into the clonex and from there straight into the medium.

I try to cut the end of the stem at an angle so instead of having a square edge it is tapered thus increasing the surface area of the cut.

I let my cubes soak in distilled water for 5 mins, but do not adjust the ph, As with seedlings I think ph amendments are too aggressive for cuttings. Once they are soaked I give the cubes a good squeeve so they are damp but not waterlogged.

I keep my propagator about 3 foot under a fluoro, and place some white card on top for the first few days. I find a little light works much better than intense light even when using fluoros.

And thats about it really, it's not he fastest way of cloning, but as I said I get a 95%+ strike rate within 7 days.

Good luck, and enjoy the experience. It's a great feeling when you see the first sign of roots from you cuttings as I'm sure you will find out.

Brilliant little guide quick & simple I love it!

Ive cut my 4 clones & placed them in my propagator hopefully Ive done it right. I soaked the RW cubes in distilled water & formulex. At what point should I begin to adjust the PH (5.6 for RW right?) for watering the RW & how about misting, should I PH the water for misting if so then at which rate, 5.6?

many people shy against squeezing rockwool cubes because it collapses all the microscopic holes inside. Use a salad spinner to get the excess water out of them next time :)

See one of my latest post where I have stated the days during veg cycle, Ive not begun to flower yet but I have cut clones (pics coming up) blueberry is one of my favourite strains so in my opinion indeed it is worth while.

So Ive already cut 6 clones (2 in RW cubes & 4 in root riot cubes) they are all on day 6 Ive been misting through out the day with a mixture of formulex & superthrive (once a day) & I mist with unPHed tap water (twice a day).
The problem Im having is that no roots have shown in any of the cubes & the clones which are sitting in RW its leaves are turning pale yellow & are begining to crinkle.
Temp in HEATED (on all day) propagator: 25C
Humidity at 95-98rh%
Fluros 15cm away from the highest leaf.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

Stop misting and lower you humidity. Some transpiration through the leaves is needed to encourage root growth. You are drowning your clones all they need is a warm moist root zone to root (70F).

Actually that makes sense, roots grow to look for water but if I over do it on the misting then the roots wil not grow right? Silly me.
But what about the yellow discoloration? Ive posted pics of the clones in the below post...

Here are some pics of the clones do better examine them. What is the reason for the pale leaves? Is it a deficiency problem?
