My cloning success keeps getting better!

OP - are you using a warmed dome to clone in? Mine take off in rockwool or Root Shooters with nearly 100% success. Plain tap water in a taped up McDonald's cup gives me like results.

The two most important factors to rooting in any medium is moisture level and temperature. Using rockwool or Root Riot plugs its important to keep them moist but never wet, its also important to keep the root zone at least 80 degrees.

I like to keep my clone cuts submerged for a few days in their rockwool cubes. But then again, I'm not great at cloning ;)

Yeah I use a clear plastic container as my humidity "dome". I'm thinking about adding a heating mat to speed things up a bit. Some strains take up to 2 weeks to root.

Congrats, clear cups are a good idea. I've never used them, but I've cloned it pretty much anything that works; the key thing to remember, is set it and forget it. Lol. Stay away for 10 days, come back and there's roots.

A watched cutting never roots. Lol. Some of my strains root in 7 days. Some people say not to use clear cups, but I've never had an issue. It's nice to be able to see the root development so I now when to transplant.

I've heard to not use clear cups many times. Quick fix - Drop your clear cup into a red party cup. To check the roots, simply lift out the clear cup.

Sometimes temps, and other variable play a role in a cut never rooting. Don't stress it too much, I always have one or two laggers. Cut extras and do a game called, survival of the fittest, only the strong survive :D lol

I put my cuttings in sand, kept moist and out of direct light. Don't even need any rooting gel.. 99+%

The biggest failure when propagating is trying to start your cuttings in anything rich in organics. A sterile medium is the best and sifted beach sand is the best medium in my experience. We didn't have root riot cubes back when I started. I've propagated hundreds of species of plants, lawn ornamentals, perennials etc, by cuttings in sand though and it is a cheap method and it works.

All these bubble cloner machines and shit are really cool, but not necessary at all.
