Another crap load of rockwools soaking tonight. Seems some of the clones from the last run might have started to flower with no hydro...what a shitty set back.

On a better note, made a 794$ claim with hydro one due to all my food going bad. Fingers crossed.

Hydro was out for 3-4days during the ice storm. Things got quite cold and a lot of the clones got hurt. I cracked open some rock wool cubes and did see about 60% had small/starting roots and the other 40%. Il be monitoring the growth to see if new growth is happening or I'm just keeping them alive. Thankfully its not a big set back as i have tons of resources right now. Im sure a lot of people in Ontario lost a lot of plants over that long weekend. I lost over 800$ in food too so that kinda sucks. Il be forced to cut a new tray of clones with the other strains, I'm fine with that. Kept the previous moms :)
That sucks, I've hear some people were out for a few days. I was fortunate, only out for 21 hours and just kept them in the dark until the lights came on their normal cycle (totalled 36 hours in the dark), freezers were fine since it wasn't that long for me. They looked no worse for wear and just kept going. A week into it and did a good scan for nanners, nothing resembling bananas in there. Clones took a beating but I kept spraying them every few hours and most will survive. That was a nasty hit :(

Yeah the power outage was brutal. Il have enough for 1 room then il start room b 30days after so i can get 10-12 harvests a year

So i took 2 more trays of clones. 10x WWxBB, 10x BigBud XXL, 10x Big Kush, 10x BigBud and 10x GreenCrack and the other tray has 42x BubbaKush.

I have done 000-0000s of clones in the past and have never lost this many, I'm guessing it was the 4 day hydro outage. Im usually at 1-2 loss per tray in the past. I have moved the clone area to a closet.

Am i doing something wrong?

Soak cubes for 24hrs at 6.0PH
Drip dry cubes
Cut cuttings on a 45
Dip cutting in powder or gel
Place cutting in cube
Squeeze cube closed
Place in tray
Spray cuttings
Spray dome
Heating pad
18/6 t5

You shouldn't squeeze the cubes and maybe soak them at 5.5ph, but that really only affects the clone once rooted.

Two of mine are showing roots out the bottom.

There quite damp still, not a vicious squeeze just a thumb and pointer finger press.
Good I hope they all come along

You are going above and beyond what I usually do - I soak for a few minutes in tap water balanced close to 5.5-6.0.
The only additional steps I do is choose branches low on the main plant, more rooting hormones in those, and to split the bottom of the branch open, where the roots will be, 1-2cm up the branch with a clean blade(this i make sure my blade is always clean), so as to give more surface area for roots to take. Then I dip in rooting gel/powder.

Yeah I'm just keeping it simple from now on. Those trays that I ended up throwing out I sliced the bottom upwards and reports on the interwebs say it can take the roots longer and easier chance of infection. On a positive note things are going good. The cuttings that wilted right after clipping are standing up in the domes now. My wife is going to be pissed to hear I confiscated her linens closet haha and a 8x8 tent might be taking over her office. Il tell her about all this after sex tonight haha. Starting 3gal mothers now, have about 4 kinds under 1 light @600w.

@itsmehigh you weren't kidding about this controller. I just have a simple basement setup. Do you have your controller hooked up to cameras, alarm, police, fire? Just reading what this thing can do is crazy. Temps too high and the fire department, security company and a text message get sent out. Any other uses I'm missing? Seen in someone's thread he wired a relay for watering times.

Many options with those controllers, but I only use it to control the lights. My other system are independently controlled, for redundancy. Would hate for the controller to fail with all my systems tied to it. I've learned not to put all my eggs in one basket, my back ups have back ups.

Why use rock wool? Personally I prefer and have had more success with peat pellets. Many different ways to clone, everyone has their tricks they swear by. My$.02

- clean/sanitize tools and work area
- soak pellets in warm sanitized (h202) water.
- cut oversized branch (extra couple nodes) immediately place in room temp water.
- remove bottom couple nodes, leave top 3-4 nodes.
- clip bigger fan leaves, 1/3rd-1/2. Off
- slice with sterile blade at or below 4th node. Cutting can crush stalk.
- dip in hormone (powder is best, no preservatives or extra moisture)
- insert into pellet, squeeze top half of cube around cutting, bottom half of cube remains saturated, top half only moist.
- spray cuttings as needed, they tend to wilt as your completing the tray.
- spray dome.
- 24hrs t5 1 day
- 18/6 ongoing
- burp dome, blow on cuttings, extra co2 and fresh air, spray domes, never cuttings. Daily or 2x daily
- water cutting only once roots show, or if cubes dry out. Should be good for a week or so.
- transplant as soon as roots show, feed with 1/4 strength 20-20-20

Usually 100% success, I've done thousands with this method.

So its been about 4 weeks since this batch of clones rooted. They have been transplanted into 5gals for roughly 3.5 weeks. Fertilizer is still at about 50%. Im topping roughly every 5-7 days. Each plant should have roughly 12-18 tops as of right now. Plant support will be a problem...see if i can get some trellis. Il top once or twice more and before flip trim the bottom up some more..then again at week 3 in bloom. I monster cropped a few, growth went retarded like expected but worked great. Roughly 6-10 nodes within 6 inches took a little to bounce back, stretch should get rid of the messed up growth. Room needs a sweep, just did some plucking.

50% AN a&b
50% roots excelurator

Il do 75% next week and 100% week before flip...flipping in 2 weeks.

il be taking roughly 80 clones in the next few days. 40 critical kush and 40 big kush.

The 2 large plants in the back are my CBD critical mass and CBD medi haze.

Also have some veggies going. Lots more in the upstairs closet.

Future moms in 3gals, critical kush - lost coast - ww x bb - bubba - big bud xxl, maybe some others

Front left 9 Bubba
Next 9 WW X BB
Next 9 Big Bud XXL
Back right 9 Bubba
Front right Mothers listed

Left to right - cat grass, lettuce, green crack clones, carrots, tomatoes

well its been awhile, plans have changed.

Turned it into 1 room with 8 lights with 6 plants under each.

Currently on day 24 of bloom. Made the switch from AN to Flora Nova.

Using FN-bloom, GH kool bloom, AN carbo load, AN big bud, AN B52, AN sensizym...the AN stuff will be phased out as it runs out.

This is probly the best strain in the room, dinafem big kush. Il get some pics of the lost coast hashplant, its a very dark green looks like it wants to purple out. Everything in 5gals is about 5ft tall and the 3 galls are about 3-4ft.
