Mounting exhaust fan in grow room?

I'm building a grow room and have access to the ceiling to put in studs.

What is a good way to mount a 6inch inline fan?

I heard straight to studs could cause some vibration or unnecessary noise?

Noise can definitely be transferred if it's screwed directly to the structure.

One way to cut down on the noise is to put rubber grommets between the fan mounting bracket and the structure, but the best way to isolate noise is to hang the fan using rope / ratcheting light hangers. This makes it silent. I even have one of the noisy eco plus air pumps hanging with light hangers and it makes it nearly silent.

The idea I'm gonna try is getting tie down mounting points. Like the ones in truck beds. Then sorta make a hammock like system with some ratched straps. That should allow me to get it as high as possible with the support it needs.

I've had those belt straps break on me and I dont trust light hangers. Overkill is needed as i don't need my fan taking out my $2k raging kush

You should hang them from 1/4 inch medical elastic or bungee cord, they decouple it and stop noise transfer, the difference in noise transfer is quite substantial, you also run the risk of the fan hitting the right or rather wrong resonating frequency starting a humming noise from the area.

Rubber or silicone tube or strap. Sorry Star. Latex surgical tube degrades fast under load, UV and heat.
