it isn't fancy. I use a utility pump and a couple of buckets. I put quick connect fittings on the hoses. There is a PVC pipe attached to the hose that goes to the bottom of the res. I fill up the buckets and then dump the solution.
Thanks allot for going through the trouble of taking pictures man... this really spelled it out for me as far as the unit goes... I didnt realize that the unit didnt come with some type of drain... Im not to convinced... also..the plants look heathy.. i cant say they dont... i was just wondering though...the roots... this says aero ...but it seems to me thats its more of a DWC with spray jets up top... do the roots live in nutrient solution? so air rocks and all that?
Im not knocking your system... please understand...just not what im looking for in the end... for me hot temps is a killer for a rez... it caused root rot last time so im scared to do that... the PVC or fence post aero will probably be what i end up building IF i try hydro again...lol.. Although again with those fence post aero/nft systems i feel that it doesnt allow rot growth space like this system would... so thats why i wanted to check it out... lol.... Sorry for the book...
So... are you going to try topping and fimming next time?... you saw that adding two plants per pot site wasnt hard.... Did you feel that the 6 inch pot sizes are overkill for this system?... Most aero system have 2" net ... I know you can get that model instead so thats why i was asking...
Sorry man well medicated here so im babling... good luck bud...
