MIRACLE GROW USERS, need advice/input on which to get?

hey the place near my house sells MG organic potting mix, seed starter, potting mix, peat moss, and perlite all from MG..

im not familiar wit MG, but its all i can find.. which is the best for seedlings and mature growth?, (i want to keep the same from seed to harvest)

or should i combine a few of the above to create my own soil?

i dont want to burn the plants, esp the seedlings, so if anyone can shoot me in the right direction, it would be great.. will also use FF grow big, and big bloom down the line..

Depends.. Are you growing autoflowers? If growing autoflowers you can grow from seed to harvest cause they only live 70-90 days depending on strain and most soils run out of nutes in 3 months. If you are not using autoflowers start them in some plastic cups and wait a month and transplant into a bigger container and add new soil and you will have an extra 3 month of soil with active nutes in it. But I always do paper towel method to germinte my seeds then I plant them right into miracle grow moisture control with 1/4 vermiculite mix and seems to work fine for me. I heard MG organic mix works well. I would advise not to use all MG in your soil. Mix it will perlite, vermiculite or something atleast 1/4 the amount of MG you put in.

I have several MG grows under my belt, so I'll advise you from my own personal experience. I prefer the MG Organic choice, for obvious organic reasons. Even though the bag says not intended for indoor plants, it worked fine for me. I poured a large bag of it in a rubbermaid roughneck tote (large), added half a bag of MG Perlite, and mixed it in real good with a hand trowel. I then placed the top on and left it out in the sun for a few days in the middle of summer. This allowed the soil to compact and start that internal combustion process, throwing off a lot of heat. If anything came alive in that bag, like weed seed or insects, it was dead after that. I used a dark blue tote to soak up the sun heat.

For starting seeds, I used their seed starter, organic.

A few words about MG growing.... You will not need to feed your plants for 3-4 weeks, maybe longer depending on lighting, conditions, etc. Just make sure you water only when the plants need it. My seeds start in solo 20 oz cups filled with seed starter mix. I keep the cups moist at the top and covered until the plant sprouts. I only water with a spray mister for first few days, gently wetting the soil more than the plant itself. I keep the seedlings in the solo cups and seed starter mix until the cotyledons (the very first two leaves you see) start to turn yellow. This is the first clue that the plant needs food. When they begin to turn yellow, transplant into one gal containers with your mixed MG soil and water well. At this stage, I add a few drops per gal of SuperThrive to stave off any transplant shock.

Once you transplant, you won't need to feed again for about 3-4 weeks. Watch your plants and they'll tell you when to feed them for the first time. Generally, I get through most of vegging with no nutes, other than Cal-Mag and maybe SuperThrive, which is more viatmins than nutrients.

Yeah,,indogrowers knows it.
. Personally I use the MG potting soil, with about 30 percent perlite. I add that its not in the bag already.
Dispite what people say I have yet to have a seed burn or not develope at the expected rate. Just mind that MG is foritfed ,enough for my babies to need no nutes till they go into bloom. Then its bio bloom, topmax and bio heaven. Anyway thats me ranting abity.
If u use the mg potting soil just remeber that if the soil is water logged for long enough you will have little white bugs in the soil. Only when the soils very wet for a long time have I found these bugs. Also I havnt used the mosture control stuff, as you may not need to water as much but u loose some off the control. If u see what I mean.
So yeah,, in summary, I love MG, great stuff, saves money on ferts,drains well,espically when you amend it with perlite or vert, or what ever u want to use. O and I also added some more holes on the side of the pot to help airate that soil.

If you follow this your in good shape. Very similar to my MG grows

my only ? is this, my grow will last 3 months tops being that i want a short veg..

will i have problems flushing before harvest causing all of the time released ferts to come out?

i plan on using the FF trio as well.. my only concern is the time released ferts come harvest time.. thanks again!

Nah, if you notice it says "Up to" on the bag, when I use the 'Up to" 3 months feeding, it usually lasts me 3-4 weeks before my plants require regular fertilizer. It never lsasts as long as the bag makes it sound

hey man ive done some good MG grows too, i like to mix the organic MG or Moisture control (its fluffier, doesnt compact), with 1/4 cup of MG blood meal and 1/4 cup of MG bone meal all in a 5 g bucket and that'll last ya 1- 1.5 months of veg, then start using MG bloom buster at 1/2 strength for flowering and work ur way up. (if u plan on veggin longer use MG tomato 20-20-20 at 1/2 tsp per gal)

Very good info on MG grows....MG organic is a fav of mine for autos....works great if the above directions are followed (Serapis post)....
