I actually have told people I know to check out RIU.org
There is so much useful information and lots of people here who help.
I didnt tell them anything about my grow, or my username. I just casualy mentioned the site to them.
However, in hindsight, I do have some pictures of my ugly mug around this forum. And in my journal, I have pictures of my house and my dog...
I just hope "they" dont see them
Its cool that all my friends here at RIU knows about my grow, but I dont want friends or other acquaintances to find out. Then rumors get started and blah blah blah

I almost met up with a couple people at an event. Didn't go through, and to be honest I'm kinda glad. It would have been weird. There are some sn's around here, but what happens when they come from behind the computer screen? Because everyone is different in person, I don't care wha they say.

i think that's why you DO go and meet them.... so you can say hello and find out what they are like when they're not behind the computer screen.... 
i mean if i were to meet up with captain cronizzle, i don't have a picture in my head, but from the off, i'd be expecting a fat f*** (no offence, avatar of a haaaaamburger
) and i really wouldn't care if he turned out to be a marathon runner.. that's interesting, you're finding out things that were previously just assumptions you've created on your own.
