Messed up light cycle in week 8 flower

Been lurking for a while and love all the information sharing and friendly vibe. Finally joined because I MESSED UP and need assistance. I was moving things around the other day and bumped my timer/power strip and switched everything off. Turned it all back on and continued on my way not realizing I'd set it to be ON all the time instead of on its 12-12 cycle. It's been this way for about 36-40 hours. Everything is switched off now.

I NEED YOUR HELP, FRIENDLY PEOPLE!

Do I leave them in complete darkness for a while (if so, how long?)? Do I just let the lights come back on today at their normal time? I noticed bud development seemed to be slowing when I expected them to be really plumping up. (I was in the room yesterday totally oblivious to the fact that the lights had never gone off overnight.) This is my first time and also I think my first major mistake. They've been doing beautifully all along.

They're in soil and I've been using organic nutes but for the past several days have been giving water only as I thought I was getting closer to harvest. They are mostly (supposedly) sour d and a couple of bagseeds that look indica dominant.

Thanks all.

Continue your normal schedule is about all you can do. Do not leave in the dark for any extended period of time as you will just confuse the girls even further inducing more stress.

don't listen to that retard doritos. he has never grown before.

36+ hrs of lights on?

Hmmm. doesn't sound good. I doubt it will mess things up too badly. I'd go straight back to 12/12 but you better keep an eye out for nanners.

I'd consider chop, how long are you planning to go?

Are you kidding me. Why would you give advice like that are you trying to screw other peoples grows up. If you are gonna give advice like that its better off to shut the hell up and not say anything. Luckily it appears you did a little research after and corrected yourself. Try doing that first next time.

Whoever gave all that +rep to doritos should be kicked in their genitals repeatedly if that is the type of advice he is gonna be giving our new members. Sorry he did that on your thread but most members are very knowledgeable and will quickly line out the idiots like this. Happy growing

Thanks to the guys that actually tried to help, I appreciate it! I'm really not sure how much longer I was going to let them go. I've been watching the trichs but they look to me like they need longer. They are pretty hairy with mostly white hairs still, and from what I am reading I need to give them time for the hairs to die back and curl back into the bud and this is when the buds are supposed to fatten up/fill out? Trichs are cloudy. I think I want to harvest the sativas while the trichs are still cloudy or barely turning amber, but I'd like fatter buds too.

The indicas are more plump and look closer to ready. I was going to give those another week or so.

Lights are due to come on in about 45 minutes. They've had just a couple hours of dark since I noticed the lights were on, freaked out and ran in to shut everything off. Bah... Sounds like I should just let them do their thing as normal today and keep my fingers crossed. I'll be so extremely pissed if I've messed this up!

yeah that late in flower you probably don't have enough time for seeds to form anyway. SO you'll probably be fine.

either way if you start to see odd growth i'd chop...better to be safe than sorry eh?

it really all depends on how long your lights were on when they were supposed to be off.. i figured. because my lights were on for 23 hours.. that if i woulda continued they would have had 36 hours of lights on.. before a dark period.. so i gave them 23 on.. 25 off.. then back to 12on 12 off. and didnt even see a difference.. had a timer fail and that was fun.

For sure. I let the lights come on at their normal time and will just keep my eyes on them. I'll update you guys as to how it turns out. Fingers crossed, got so much time into this I really hope yield/quality/timing isn't all messed up.

I think it will all be fine this late into flowering. Just keep an eye out for any bananas popping up on your bud material in which case they were stressed to the point of hermaphroditing. I really believe you have nothing to worry about.

I did the same thing on my first grow. I felt dumb dumb dumb... Just go back to the same schedule. Don't change things at all! They are used to the hours you've been keeping for 7 weeks now. The only thing to watch for is bananas.

Do NOT chop early. There is no reason for that...

cheap plug in wall timers never fail to let you down.

a mechanical hard wired timer is a good investment for all but the smallest closet grows imo.

Truth!! Mine fluctuate about 1 minute +/- every day. Makes me wonder if our cell phones are slightly off and get reset every 2-3 days. Kinda strange.

You gotta check them regularly though. If your power goes out while you are away it will screw up the cycle...
