Mental 1st grow

Kind of agree with what you say Doobius but I think it's down to soil.
The roots are mostly oxygen breathers like you and me and they live in the area between the dirt. This gets flooded when you water and that's when the roots feed, but if it doesn't dry out fairly quickly then the plant drowns. That is why the soil needs to be free draining.
If a plant is drowning then it's due to overwatering.
The soil looks pretty dry in that pic and the plant exhibits under watering traits that's why I chose under watering.

I know about o2 and roots, that's why when in hydro you need an airstone and have your watering on a timer. Soil I know as well, but drowning plants would exhibit different physical traits, than dehydrated plants.

As far as holes, it looks like the pot, the droopy plant is in should have holes at the bottom but I don't know MC will have to fill us in on that. I'd be more worried about root rot rather than over watering if it didn't have holes.

If it were overwatering, it'd have to be in a way way extreme state of overwatering to get the plant to droop that bad. The plant doesn't look (Kind of hard to see because of the blurriness) like it's exhibiting any necrosis of the leaves due to over watering either. It could be overwatering but it totally looks like a case of under to me personally.

How do i get the perlite up in the soil? Do you think i can find sphagnum moss in walmart and please please say you can lol because if not i hope you can at lowes.
You need to buy more perlite and wait until you transplant to mix it in with the soil, for best results. You may be able to find the moss and the perlite at Walmart since it's still "Season" time for summer. You're probably better off going to a garden store, or a Lowe's like you said.

Since I'm pissed off and at work and on phone imma do a simple reply to all that and then when I get home ill rereply to it but yea that pot has about 4-6 holes under it and now my oldest one or well the one that was growing faster then the others today just killed over like the other but its branches and leaves aren't fallen all the way over like that one but yea you know what I mean.

Hey Doobius
You're prolly right. I was trying to give MC the benefit of doubt that he knows when to water by now but I could well be wrong.
I was looking more at the stems than anything. They are pretty skinny for such a plant and that kind of shows the prob has been there a while. That soil does look pretty compacted too.

Sorry to hear another one has done the same MC. You are watering them aren't you?
Like Doobius says, you will need to repot them to get some airation into the soil. Sounds like maybe slightly bigger pots would be in order too.

Yeah over and under watering in extreme cases are kind of hard to diagnose sometimes. Depending on how long this has been going on, it very well could be overwatering, but like I said the soil just doesn't look like it's been saturated in water enough to do that you know?

But why they got to be in bigger pots? i seen people start to finish in them red plastic cups and besides if i use bigger pots basically each plant that gets a bigger pot eliminates one plant due to space. Yea im probably always going to have a problem with the stem because my first grow all had small stems remember v12. And i asked how much i should water them when they do need water but no one seems to want to answer or they just say not alot of water. I don't know how much a little water is. is it 1/4 a cup? 2/3's of a cup? i mean what is it? im about to just keep spraying the the soil below the plant like i was doing the first 2 weeks. when i did that i had no problems at all.

Bigger pots prevent rootbound plants, rootbound plants tend to either die or become under developed.

As far as 1/4 cup or what not, every strain is different and what works for my strain may not work for yours. Strains have different tolerances to water, nutrients and other stuff.

You might as well learn these problems though because that's all apart of growing you know?

Edit: Also the guys using solo cups are doing a different grow method than you, LST you're gonna want a bigger pot, SCRoG a bigger pot, SoG solo cups.

I replied to you in my journal, but some of your grow is going to be trial and error.

i no but if i go up bigger pots i will only have not that many plants then if i have less plants i will have lesser chance of getting a female out of them since its bagseed.

I replied in my journal, I think that answer will answer this one too.

Ight well it was time for them to wake up and up another one bites the dust. That has been 1 plant each day for 3 days :( i lost 3 and only have 2 left and they look like their leaves are starting to try to drop. The only 2 left alive are in my grow box i built.

I watered the one plant that decided it wanted to be like the other 2 earlier and i just looked in on them and the top leaves are back up and the bottom set is hanging over still some but not as bad so i watered the other 2 that was like that. I hope it isn't to late for them.

Here is the grow box i built i made it out of this book shelf i bought. It isn't fully finished but thats good for right now.
But what i used was:
Bookshelf
Foil tape
Foam tape (that is used to keeping air from coming in.)
2 20w cfl and 1 26w cfl (5600k)
1 80mm intake and 1 80mm outtake
Window shield reflector.

Looking good MC, get some gift wrap mylar for reflectivity it'll work better, it has like 98% reflectivity. Also silicone caulking from home depot is like a couple bucks and will seal it hardcore, so just a couple of suggestions.

I had 8 26W CFL's for 2 plants, 4 for each because of the lumen output and light penetration restrictions CFL's tend to have. I switched back to using a t5 for veg.

Looks good though.

Sounds like underwatering all along then MC. Hope the drink you gave them has had some effect.
Good call Doobius.

Like the man said, every plant is different when it comes to watering. When I plant mine up I make a point of picking up the pot and noticing how heavy it is. I do the same again after it has been watered, and I water again when it starts to feel like it did the first time. When you do water them they like a good drink, enough so you see a little water coming out the holes at the bottom.

You'll get there MC.
