Hey there LED users! I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Maxsisun MU1000 led lights or the Maxsisun brand in general. I already ordered the light. My main reason for buying the light was the 223w at the wall for $70 as I'm growing in a 2'x2'x4' tent and that wattage is perfect for flowering.

From what I understand it has a veg and bloom switch so that's probably half the diodes per mode right? I would need to run full spectrum to max my light output? That would be ideal because right now they're only getting about 15w from the wall and I think around 100w would be a nice stepping stone up to the 220w they'll be getting in bloom.

If you don't have any experience with the brand but know LEDs in general and can help me out here you're more than welcome. I don't need an argument about why American made lightbulbs are traditionally better than anything I'm talking about. I fully understand that I'm not getting 1000w for $70 but rather 223w for $70. I'm just trying to see if this LED will do alright in the size tent I mentioned because the price point was good and the features seemed useful.

It looks good for the price and something worth considering in the future, but I'm just looking for an assessment of the light mentioned and not advertisement for another light. Thanks!
umm you know this light is at 150watts draw and a more efficient diode your light is garbage I build diy lights and what do you do with lighting?

The post specifically says something that'll do alright but thanks for the input I guess. I'm not trying to maximize efficiency or buy a future proof light...

Did you even read his first post?

@xtraLRG420 That light will grow pot.
You are right about gradually upping the light levels. Distance has a huge effect on intensity also.

Good luck
Thank you for reading and actually responding to what was said good sir. Yeah I figure it's right on the low end of quality at the price but I was looking at a Bloomspect 600w with 100w draw at wall and a guy pulled almost half a lb so I'm hoping this light will at least do 2oz and any more would be amazing.

Just keep in mind, that light will produce good amount of heat. I run 200w of cob in the same size tent, and my extraction fan runs pretty frequently.

@diggs99 @Boatguy I've definitely read that this light throws some heat. I'm planning to take advantage of that because my temps are getting down to 64 at night so I could actually work with a ten degree swing. I'm not sure where my temp is going to fall with the carbon filter and fan running but I'm getting one with the speed controller so it shouldn't be too low.

Get yourself a plug in thermostat. Like this one https://www.homedepot.com/p/Lux-5-2-Day-Outlet-Programmable-Thermostat-WIN100-005/204356315
That way you wont have to manually shut it down at lights out, and temps at lights on will be stable where you want them.

I have similar temps, and dont run my fan full time unless the smell gets out of hand.

That's cool how it cuts on and off based on the temperature. As far as implementing things goes I wanna start by seeing the temperature with the light on and all my bottom flaps open with the top port open. If that works for veg I'm gonna try to save money on not running the fan and filter.

Once it starts reeking I'm gonna run the fan 24/7 though so I'm gonna gonna have to add heat if anything at least during winter. That thermostat would come in handy for a space heater that just has the low, mid, high. The fan and filter system will run perfectly for most of the year since we have have about 8 months of straight heat here in the desert.

Can you return the light @ no cost, Amazon? I would take that 70 bucks and save for a efficient, more reliable lighting option.

If it's no better than hid, fluoro @system level in teens for cheap China blurple what's the point again? Grow room mood lighting?

You missed the point of my thread entirely which is to save money and get opinions on this specific light and not get an advertisement for an american made light that is more expensive. I don't need a lesson about investing in my future. This is a little hobby for me personally.

How is it about saving money when it's most likely semi-disposable and less efficient to run vs alternatives?

There are better lights for the same price on amazon, use white light rather than these blurple cheapos.

I appreciate your situation but why not ask for advice before you buy?? There are umpteen threads like these where most of us are torn between sympathy and frustration.

The led section should organise an action group to put down a review on every single old amazon blurple light :
THESE REVIEWS ARENT WORTH SHIT DO NOT BASE YOUR PURCHASE ON ANY OF THIS.

This is a similar priced light:

Not saying its great, i havent tried, but defo better.
High diode count means less watts per chip, smds are usually a bit more modern and efficient, the fact it dont need more heat sink also indicates more light per watt. If you can change try to do so.

Or aw16 mars light but i dont know the price points.
