Max yield with a 400 hps?

Was wondering if it was possible to yield around 1lb with a 400 hps. i Did my first grow and got only 1/2 oz kinda disappointing but better than nothing with no experience.

I need better fans and a quieter grow set up before I can grow again and im fairly broke but yeah next grow I wanna do like white widow or somthing nice.

So is it possible to get like 1/2lb or 1lb off of a 400 hps with the right stuff?

I got about 1.5 lbs off my last harvest under 400w and the was a greatly reduced yield because my buddy killed a bunch of my plants when I was on vacation. It all depends on what you are growing, how big, how many, ect.

Def possible. I got a qp from one plant under 400w hps. Not the greatest yield. But it was great for me for the first time Ive ever grown.

If I didnt kill my other female, or I had planted more seeds, I'd say I could have cleared a pound and a half. easy

Can any of you guys give me like a list of exactly what i will need to achieve the 1/2 lb or pound mark, how many female plants ect..

Depends on the size and stain of the plants if you want more bud grow bigger plants or more plants. If its your first time I would just try to grow the best plants you can rather than stress over yield. The gifts from your own garden will reward you in many ways :peace:

1.5 lbs off of a 400w?

1.5 lbs = 680 grams

Hmm...That's a pretty good gram/watt ratio...even with some dead plants? How is that possible?

Two plants over three feet tall in 5 gal buckets, 24 plants over-vegged, over-crowded and packed into a three tub hydroponic system. Total yield was 1lb 7.6 oz so I guess magic? :-P

ill let you know i have 9 plants under one and i will be done in a couple weeks but 1 pound is prolly not coming for only a 400 , i got 9 plants and i can already tell that its not enough light for that many plants

to do that super crop them so ur whole grow area surface is covered in buds

I didn't know that kind of yield was possible off of a 400w. What was the strain?

What was the veg time on that?

I had two Killawatt, one White Rhino, one Purple Lady, One Trainwreck, three Hijack, eight White Widow, eight satori, and the two Satori in 5gal buckets soil. I had to move all the plants three times and it was a mess to be honest everything was WAY over vegged for such a small system, I think the veg time was close to three weeks. I did stick another flouro in the back about 5 weeks into flower because the taller plants were shading out the ones near the back.

I would NOT recommend doing what I did because it got way too crowded for me to tend to the plants properly and in the end I had a huge spider mite problem and had to throw away some Satori due to mold.

I probably would have been happier with just six big plants in 5 gal buckets but I got too ahead of myself trying to grow all these different strains.

i call bullshit unless you post a pic

^^^^^x2 I am throwing the bullshit flag as well. 17 plants in 5 gal buckets is a roughly a 6x6 space with small room between buckets. So you have 25 plants under 1 400 watt I have 17 under 2 1000 watt and it aint quite enough light.

Ive known people get that yield but experienced growers, if i grow 4 plants 2 AK-48 & 2 Super Skunk in 3 gal pots flowered under 400watts HPS just for estimate would could be potential yeild, grow space is 4ft width, 6ft height Nd 2 ft depth??

Besides all the other variables, I think genetics matters so much. Your'e gana pull a lot more growing Big Bud than you would some Purple Urkle...but which one do you wanna smoke?

1.67gpw huh. I'd love yo see some pics of this.

You do know you weigh dry right?

That aside, as per the above post, I'd much rather have grown half a pound of strains actually worth smoking than just going for weight. Unless you're just one of those growers who trys to get a bunch of stuff into the hands to a dealer to hell with the quality of what you've grown.

Aim for quality, not quantity. For instance an ounce of BB Dog is in my experience, easily worth a QP of trainwreck.

I use 400 watt lights and I say theres no way you can grow 9 halfways decent sized plants under a 400 no way. I use 2 400's together and 8 plants is about the max I can go with 2 lights. Now thats assuming they're 5 gal or even 3 1/2 gal pots.
But 9 plants 1- 400 watt light I say NFW.

9 is doable...i have a link on here to a five plant run all in one 20 gallon rubbermaid, that yielded about 7 zips under a 400 and had I planted another five and turned the rubbermaid sideways I would have easily ran ten and yielded about 12zips conservatively..so that's right near a g per watt and imo quicker and easier to attain than ruining five larger plants underneath instead (my five were still somewhat small)
