Finally got the plants Topped today and the clones in the Veg tent under 12:12 lighting. Usually like to let the clones sit in a cup of water for at least a few hours to fully hydrate before putting them into the plugs, but due to time and the logistics of having to keep the plants separated and properly marked I only soaked each of them for a few minutes, then into the plugs.

Meanwhile still only the front left plant in the tent has shown its Sex. As a result I decided to leave all lower branches on all 5 plants so I can take clones once they reach maturity and before I Flip them to Flower.

Finally, the Soil mBar was 125 today and I haven’t started brewing my AACT yet, so I put the Blumat back on to give them some water while they recover from their Topping. Will probably turn them back off tomorrow and start brewing the Tea so the soil is as close to 140 mBar as I can get it when I apply it. ❤

Included a couple before pics as well.D4FF69D5-D9FF-43F5-AD2D-9C1CC18EFA89.jpegA65B8E6D-147E-400F-B32D-FEAF35A4ABA4.jpeg8E4C349B-C6D4-42AE-AF03-9060191BAF91.jpegCA41C728-9AB1-44E4-B874-878780886517.jpegC88DA1A0-6518-4243-A460-418D5B278F81.jpeg

Hey man not rain on your parade but you need to change you environment or you will just keep growing killer crops of PM even after washing the buds your not getting it all killed or removed so I hope your not smoking this stuff. You need to thin out the plants and keep temps between 5 degrees from lights on to lights off or it’s a breading ground for mold. Take the fan you have blowing on the canopy and just go passive intake with a small fan near the intake line and not blowing on any plants because the leaf surface temps can be affected a lot from fans blowing directly on them. I’ve battled PM for a little while my self till I installed a 35 dollar inkbird with a heater that kicks on to keep the temps in check or you need to start spraying them with green cure all through veg and flower and you will never get rid of it without sanitizing your entire setup because at the amount of pm I saw it’s everywhere in your setup. Hope some of this helps to get you from continuously growing mold crops

Thanks for the advice man.

I do actually have a heater running outside of the tent (right by my intake) and have the lights running overnight, both of which have minimized the Temp swings I was having previously (I’m now getting around 10 degree swings).

I haven’t had PM in a couple crops (knock on wood) and spray with LABs regularly during Veg and early Flower. I still do wash the flowers after harvesting just in case, but again, so far it’s been much better.

I do get what you are saying though and would love to get an ink bird or some other similar controller to allow me to more accurately control the environment inside the tent, but it’s tough being that there isn’t any floor space in the tent to put a heater, etc…and being in a big open basement it’s extremely difficult to control the whole room it’s in.

Looking to move locations in the next year or so or maybe even building a dedicated Grow Room off my garage which I would hook up with the necessary environmental control appliances, but with COVID my income has been pretty much nonexistent for the past 2 years, so upgrading has been pretty much off the table. ‍♂

I get it space is tight but you could grow one plant mainlined raised up off the floor about a foot and put a really small heater in there on a ink bird and keep those temps within 5 degrees and you can yield more of one healthy plant than a bunch of small sick plants. spray them often with baking soda mix. Sodium bicarbonate and you won’t have any more PM. The only thing you should use the harvested plants with PM for is bubble hash since the spores won’t go through the screens from what I’ve read anyway. I have battled PM plenty inside and out and its a real PIA but you have to change the environment or you won’t get rid of it. Once it’s noticed you have already had it for a month and they say it’s systemic so hard to get rid of once you have it. I wish ya the best of luck and keep working on getting that environment dialed in and your troubles will go away

I’m yielding about a lb average (unless I don’t completely fill the tent).

And thanks, but I’m not really interested in running anything other than the Living Soil bed at the moment. I’ve done less plants and smaller containers and actually had less issues and healthier plants in the Living Soil.

The Skunk and Mazar plants that had the really bad PM a few runs back were plants that had been run for several years and had been grown outside several times and had had pretty bad PM a bunch of times, so it’s highly possible that they had systemic PM, which was why I wound up with that issue.

The Jamaican Shipwrecks I started from seed had zero PM on them (and never developed it when grown outdoors either) and were grown in the exact same environment (minus the large Temp swings).

These current plants are also from seed, so, yeah, I’m not really worried about it.

Cover was starting to get out of control, so decided to Chop and Drop all but the grasses, Top Dress, add some fresh Compost, then add a fresh layer of Mulch and finally watered everything in.

4 out of the 5 plants have gone to alternate branching, so I think it’s fairly safe to take clones now of all 5 of them to keep. Will be Topping them all as soon as they are fully back to growing at fully steam (kinda beat them up a little trying to get back in there to Chop some of the Cover).

So far no roots on any of the clones that I took to Sex them, but they are all looking pretty good and I think I’m starting to see some early signs of Flower, so hopefully won’t be much longer till I start to get some roots and new growth and some definitive Sex indications for the back 3 plants.5300CD9E-A982-4A47-A6F5-9A75FFA13EC3.jpegC0443A3D-B76B-4479-8C13-EE0D106FE720.jpegD09A2979-B5E3-4BA9-8678-5E7CD9BE29F3.jpegDAAE2B32-217C-4B46-A568-4EDF8CDABB5E.jpeg7C7EB02C-5765-4749-9B37-4FC8A94BD12C.jpeg

Bumped up the irrigation in the bed and the plants are looking much happier today! The Blumat meter was reading about 55, down from about 120 yesterday.

At this rate it’s looking like I should be good to Top them tomorrow for the last time and will take clones at that time as all 5 have gone to alternate branching.

Not too worried about waiting till the clones ai have in Flower show sex as I’ve already seen female preflowers on at least 3 of them if not 4, so even if ai wind up with a couple males it won’t really be an issue.

Got my second clone tent all cleaned up and ready to go so will just pop the clones in there so I can pick the best plant to keep and run next time. ❤

Edit: On further deliberation I’m thinking Inmay just clean up the lowers and take clones off those, lollipop the 4 Tops on each, and then Flip them to Flower.

This was never meant to be a huge Flower yield run anyhow (still got my fingers crossed for a male to make some seeds) and it’s definitely an easier problem to deal with having some extra space and airflow and not getting a record yield than it is to deal with an overcrowded canopy.

If it were just 4 plants, then I think I could fit 8 Tops on each with room to spare. But with 5 plants I’m not so sure.

Lollipopped the plants, took all the viable clones I could get off the 3 biggest ones and 4 decent ones off the 2 smaller ones, LST’d them a little to get all of the colas into as much direct of light as possible while still allowing as much airflow as I could.

Plant 4 (Front Left) wreaked of Skunk while I was just cutting her clones! She was also the first to show sex and has been one of the most vigorous growers. Keeping my fingers crossed she’s as skunky as that in Flower!

Turned the Timber 4VS up to full power, and Flipped the lights. I’ll be running them on 7pm to 7am and off 7am to 7pm. The past couple runs ai have done this and it has dramatically reduced the Temperature drops and RH spikes when the lights are off. Hoping it holds up. Also still got the little ceramic heater running when the lights are off, which should hopefully also help.

Official 1st Day of 12:12 today (tonight). Plants were looking fairly happy though I think the light is pretty bright for them (DLI has been kept constant though).

Hopefully by the end of the week they will be soaking it up and it might possibly keep the stretch in check as well (though, this being the first time growing this Cultivar I don’t know what to expect in that regard anyhow).

Soil MBar is still a steady 60, but once they start stretching we’ll see how well that holds.

Clones are still looking pretty happy, though I’m thinking of adding in an additional drop light with 2 more CFL’s to spread the light out better in the DIY tent since it’s wider so the sides don’t catch and reflect the lights back in as well as the 2x2 does.

Day 10 of 12:12 today.

Looks like I am gonna get my wish after all and this will wind up being a seed run. Turns out I have 4 males and a single female!

So, I’ve decided to go “old school” and let them Open Pollinate her with the theory being that the strongest genetics should be the ones to get passed on, plus there will be much more genetic diversity (and therefore health and vigor) in the next generation of seeds. This is pretty much how all Heirloom and Landrace Cultivars have been created (though obviously on a much larger scale).

One of my grower buddies also identified the yellowing I was seeing in the Top growth as an early Sulfur or Iron deficiency (undoubtedly being caused by how quickly they are growing and getting ever closer to the Timber). So, on his advice I applied 20 Cups of Worm Castings (4 Cups per plant) mixed with 1 1/4 Cups Basalt around the bases of the plants, then watered them in with 4 gallons of AACT which I brewed for 36 hours.

Also happy to report that, when I pulled back the mulch layer to apply the Castings/Basalt mix, the MSL cover that ai had chopped and dropped had already been completed reduced to castings! ❤

Day 12 of 12:12 lighting.

Plants were looking beautiful tonight! ❤:blsmoke:

Soil mBar was about 80, so decided to turn the Blumats up in hopes that they can keep things about where it is now. These plants are drinking like crazy as they are growing fast and also getting lots of light.

Speaking of which my plan is to try to get them as close to 2000 PPFD without going over as I can. If some start to exceed that then I could either Super Crop the tallest Colas (most likely plan) or I do have some wiggle room to raise the whole light if need be, but hoping it won’t come to that.

Day 13 of 12:12 update.

Plants were once again looking happy as can be! Soil mBar was up to about 98 again, so again turned up the Blumats. Sooner or later I’ll figure out where they need to be to keep up with these plants.

Measured and the tallest Cola on the male in the back is only 6” away from the Timber. Checked with my Quantum Sensor and it was reading about 2050 PPFD. He looks happy as can be though. ❤

Meanwhile all but 1 of the clones in Flower has rooted (and it’s the smallest male in the back left of the bed). Decided to transplant the 2 female clones which will get Monster Cropped, 1 due to go outside for my outdoor grow this coming year and the other to be given away.

Clones in Veg are also starting to root as well, but so far none of the Female’s cuttings yet. Not worried though as they all still look totally healthy so I know it’s just a matter of time.

Day 16 of 12:12 lighting.

Decided to Supercrop the tallest Cola on the big male in the back right as it was getting dangerously close to actually touching the COB.

Other than that they are all looking very happy!

Also starting to soak some seeds for a SST to add some more enzymes that should help with nutrient uptake and just general growth.

Finally, getting more and more clones rooting under the new T5 clone dome and also decided to Flip the clones that are in Flower back to Veg so I can start to Re-Veg the female clones for this upcoming outdoor grow season.10182A66-0B7D-4812-A993-E67A413F5B5F.jpeg2BCBEF58-7732-4408-A5B9-36353E065F7E.jpeg

Day 21 of 12:12

Seeing some signs of what looks like Iron Deficiency on the top of the tallest Cola of the female, so hit her with 4 more cups of Worm Castings, 1/2 Cup of V2 Flower mix, and watered in with a Lentil SST. I also decided to raise the light a bit more to give that Cola a bit of a reprieve.

Other than that though everything else is looking awesome! ❤

What up Rollitup!

Today is day 28 of 12:12 for these Original Skunk1 plants from Authentic Genetics seed co.

Male plants are dropping pollen like mad and just about every leaf in the tent is covered in it. Should hopefully be a great seed haul when all is said and done. ❤

Meanwhile, got all the female clones potted up and 4 out of the 5 that were in Veg are in the 2x2. The 5th one was showing what looked like Spider Mite damage, so I introduced Predatory Mites to take them out before they got too established. But, strangely enough, that was the only clone in the whole dome with any damage, so now I’m wondering if maybe it could have been some sort of nutrient issue.

Just to be safe though I decided to leave that last clone in the smaller DIY tent as a sort of quarantine and to watch her and see what she does for the time being.

Also decided to snap a couple pics of the male clones and their roots before chopping them and mulching them back into the bed. Definitely happy with how this new T5 clone set up worked out!:blsmoke:

Day 35 of 12:12 Update

Today was the day that I said goodbye to these beautiful male plants. Always feel bad about chopping perfectly healthy plants, but they had served their purpose and pollinated the lovely lady in the tent well, so I chopped and dropped them back into the soil, Top Dressed in preparation for the next run, added some fresh EWC, and added a fresh Mulch layer on top to keep the moisture in and allow the biology in the bed to start breaking down the organic matter and continuing the circle of life in the soil.

Also starting to see some purples coming through in the Female’s flowers, which is a nice added bonus.

The clones of the female are also doing well in the Veg tent, awaiting their turn to show what they can do in Flower when there are no males present.:blsmoke:

Day 42 of 12:12

The big girl in the Flower tent continues to pack on weight! Definitely happy with how she is stacking and bulking, especially considering she is fully pollinated.

Meanwhile the clones are all doing well but had outgrown their Solo Cup containers, so I potted them up into nursery pots. Not much larger, but enough so that I could get them a little more food and buy myself some more time to train them before they eventually go into the bed for the next run.

Also Topped them all as I intend to Mainline them; which I’m also excited about as it will be my first time doing a Mainline in the Living Soil bed.❤

Day 49 of 12:12

Some more fade starting on a couple more big fan leaves, but not much color yet other than the hints of purple in this girl’s flowers. Hasn’t been nearly as cold the last couple weeks as it was earlier in Flower either though.

Soil mBar was reading 79, which is pretty much exactly what I was aiming for! Will see how quickly she drinks through that and whether or not I will have to give her more water before she is finished.

Hoping she’ll be done within another week to 10 days at the longest. ❤

Meanwhile got the Mars TS1000 back into the 2x2 over the clones. 4 will be going into the bed after I chop this girl (and do some reworking of the soil and Blumats) and the other 2 are gonna go outside this outdoor season.

Day 56 of 12:12

Soil mBar has remained constant at 65 for the past couple days. This may mean that this girl is finally getting close and Senescence is going to quickly progress from here on out. Starting to fade out more as well.

Plan on letting her go all the way to full on fade/Senescence to both let every seed possible mature and also in hopes that she’ll have enough time to fully express her Terp/Thiol profile. Interestingly enough, the basement and front entranceway absolutely wreak of Skunk and I am starting to get the smell when I first open up the tent, but when I smell the flowers directly they still have more of a Citrusy smell. ‍♂ Thinking/hoping that given enough time those Acrid scents would develop enough that the flowers themselves are gonna that same smell.

Meanwhile the Clones are really starting to take off and should be ready to Top again very soon. ❤

Day 63 of 12:12

Been 9 full weeks now since I Flipped this girl and she is definitely looking beautiful and bountiful! Fade is coming on strong now as well as her Flowers really starting to frost up with Trichomes!

Soil mBar was at 115 when I opened the tent, so I gave the bed a gallon of water, which dropped it to about 70. Most likely by tomorrow night it’ll be around 80, which is right where I was aiming for.

Thinking it won’t be much longer now till she is finished.

Meanwhile finally got all of the clones, with the exception of the Monster Cropping one (which I am still waiting on to see whether she is just gonna keep Vegging or actually Monster Crop), Topped and LST’d again. Each Clone now has 4 Mains. :blsmoke::leaf:❤
