Some great shots there ms. You just needed a home delivery pizza flyer to complete the picture :)
We're starting to miss you now you know.
Thank you gents :-) and V12, thats my favourite combo, a Tennants Super (9%!) and a spliff or two!

tamjam, I'm looking forward to smoking MsAngel, shes the better of the 2 so I'll cut the other first and let her go as long as I can. After that it should be just 3 weeks until the next plant (Agatha) is ready to chop. Good to read that mate.

Quick photos of 3 of the plants, MsAngel (of course), Cynthia and Agatha. Agathas looking nice, I let her stretch a bit, didnt tie her down too hard this time but shes got a dead level canopy so far under the CFL's, just an inch away from the tops. Cynthia has had more severe LST as she was also stretching and shes going into 12/12 mid next week (will be a bit of a squeeze in there!). She will give a load of clones although I only need a couple at a time.

Of the 2 cuts I took from the mutants only 1 rooted sadly. I gave up with the other even though she was just at the point of rooting her condition had deteriorated due to the length of time I think.

101 plants is a bit rich for a personal grow. I get many of the points made but he's the kind of guy I'm trying to avoid.

i dont know about that v12!! did you see how much he put in that spliff :o:o:o:o:o
I thought that too! Been a long while since I rolled something that size (as the actress said to the bishop!)...

Its been a beautiful day here today, clear blue skies all day so the 3 flowering plants went outside. I know what youre all going to say about pests etc BUT I cant deprive them of sunlight when its there for the taking :-) I still mist with SMC organic pest control twice a week, and plenty under the leaf, I have learned that you can do this even with flowering plants and soak the underside while leaving the buds etc dry. This SMC is corriander oil basically! Best thing is I also hunt the ladybirds and place them on my plants.....'swings and roundabouts' I'd say all in all. I do keep them raised up about 30cm off the ground.

Anyway, this shows MsAngel, Agatha and the corner of Perspicacia sunbathing.

they are looking real good ms, filling out nice. if you you think there may be a problem with insects from being outside, you may be able to treat the area where you place them to minimize on chances of any infection. just a suggestion

I do spray all plants around the area Gumball, but having grown outdoors for many years too I have found that these things kind of take care of themselves and my outdoor bud has always been clean. Even the seagulls that come down into the garden and on the shed roof every day have never been a problem :-) They are so used to human contact that they will come right down to you yet we get very little mess. I love these creatures, they are just so funny to watch :-)

nice to see what you (and others) can do grow with a few cfl lights. I was always led to believe this method of growing was a waste of time..seems for personal stash it could be the answer to my problems.

The summer heat as almost made the temps in my 250w hps grow unmanagable. The only space available in this shoebox sized flat is wedged amongst this maze of doors. Last years afghan strain had no problem with this heat but the abused plants I rescued from a mate just ain't getting any better. I've only got a few grows under my belt tho and it could be any number of problems. I will start a thread and if any of you vetrans have any advice that would be appreciated.

Btw sorry to hear about you getting busted MS. What ws the outcome of that?. My mate got community service..he was on bbc digging a ditch or somthing lol. God forbid you get busted again, but it would be funny to hear the court being told of agatha and trinny :)
Nothing like good ole sunlight :D
Had to make a tough decision to keep my supply going and decided to take perspicacia early so that MsAngel can be given the time she needs to finish. I got to say that my original plans for this perpetual grow have not gone well due to poor yields and for the first time in 2 years since I built this little box to take over from my bigger grow I'm struggling and losing enthusiasm :-? I've been thinking back and comparing grows at different stages and have come to the one conclusion, that since moving over from seedplants to clones the yields have just not been the same. Now of course we all know that a seedplant will produce a nice yield even if its grown 12/12 from seed, whereas any clone will need time to veg up in order to match the yield, I would now estimate that a clone once rooted needs at least 2/3 weeks veg time in order to produce the same yield as a seedplant given just a week or so before flowering, the root system is just much faster to establish. Thats not to say that a clone cant outproduce a seedplant once its got its roots down but when turning over plants fast like this a clone is no match for a seedplant. Thats my opinion based on observations over the last 2 years in this box and I'd be interested to hear what you guys think?

So what to do from here? I am seriously considering changing back over to seedplants feminised and a 250 HPS. I'm reluctant to do it but I'm just not optimising my grow at the moment and having to cut down plants before they reach potential. The buds on both Perspicacia and MsAngel look great, very frosty and filling out as I enter week 7 flowering but overall I got to say yield will be poor, maybe 10 to 14g dry per plant although maybe another 2 weeks will see MsAngel top that mark as she bulks up. Agatha is looking more promising as she did get a full 3 week veg period, as did Cynthia, but stems just dont look as solid as I would expect from a seedplant with 3 weeks veg time. Cynthia has just today been pout into 12/12 so again a couple more weeks will tell as she begins her stretch.

Heres some pics of the 3 of them, msAngel starting week 7, Agatha starting week 4 and cynthia starting week 1.

In the meantime I'm doing a lot of thinking and planning about where I go from here, maybe its time to retire that small box and go back to something more efficient in terms of lighting and ventilation as I had previously, and grow larger plants from feminised seeds.

Bottom line is that I'm still smoking my own stuff, but whereas I used to have a couple of jars in reserve most of the time I'm chopping early which really pisses me off to have to do! As with any grow journal things dont always go smoothly and you got to take the rough with the smooth :-)

I'll update again in a weeks time and in the meantime I'm measuring up the storage cupboard you see below as a new grow box. It would be easy to fit a more powerful 100mm Ruck fan to vent straight into the loft above via a carbon filter (these Snow Whites stink tamjam :-) ) and run a 250 HPS in there over just a couple of bigger plants. The space is almost 6' tall by 3' wide by 3.5' deep so my idea is to build a box within the top half of the cupboard and leave a couple of feet of the lower part for storage.

Back soon.

Hi scars, cheers for the comments. I read this just after I posted the above long post and I dont want you to think I'm turning my back on CFL's, its just that I need to upgrade to push my yields up and an HPS is one way to do that. But for quality I have always said there is no difference between the two and I stand by that, maybe just less of it :-) I can control the heat from a 250HPS as I could pull straight up into the loft above the cupboard, and as its over the stairs in the centre of the house it stays cool on the landing even in high summer as the sea breeze blows through.

Thanks for the comment about the bust, that's exactly why I choose these silly names :-) my latest clone is proudly called 'Widdecombe' !!!

MS i am really sorry that it hasnt worked for you as you wanted. I always enjoy reading your updates and if its not working for you then i understand the need for change. If i had the choice between having "jars in reserve against chopping early" i know what i would choose.

Yeah, I hate to hear your pain as well MS. But I bet you can grow some monsters with a 250 hps!!

Have you thought about doing all seed but keeping the same system? I imagine that would cost more than clones though.

Good luck to you though and I can't wait to see that big grow cab built!

I can't really confirm or deny what you say but since you base your statement on direct observation it makes sense. Useful info too - I now know I can expect bigger yelds from seeds rather than clones IF I don't veg - And I aim for no veg time in general.

Aside from that :) wish you to find again the balance that better suits your needs. Impressive results in this thread anyway I followed through it all :)

Yeah, don't get too discouraged man...I always enjoy reading your posts! I think you were one of the first threads I subscribed to! I have taken your ideas and combined them with some other methods. We have a rather large cabinet as well... check it out and let me know what you think.

Thank you for your awesome information and wicked pics!! Keep up the hard work!
