Walmart man, I don't go with the mason jars anymore... They have these big tall plastic jars with a sealable lid for I think 8 bucks.... I fit 4 oz's in it with room to spare, Kept my buds fresh for the 5 months I had them in their...

Don't use plastic..Use glass!

Walmart has 1/2 gallon glass cookie jars for 3.99 and I fit over 2 oz. They work great for me.

Also, Thrift stores carry a butt load of sealable glass canisters (like the kind for flour or storing spagehetti) ..I bought about 5 or 6 of them for .75 each. Just be careful they actually seal.

I like the bigger large mouth jars.

Where is the best place to get the GALLON mason jars? I know container stores carry them, but they are really expensive and of course anywhere online. But what about local stores that have gallon mason jars at a reasonable cost. WalMart is the place for smaller mason jars for sure. I found a box of 12 quart jars for $6 about 2 months ago! It was the WalMart brand I think. Someone recently mentioned a great place to get those big gallon jars, but I forgot, hoping someone will remind me.

I've never seen a 1gal mason jar. Not the type identical to the smaller Ball jars. Walmart sold 1gal decorative Ball jars. I have several. They're very heavy and not 100% airtight. There's away around that. Then, you can get 1gal cracker jars at Walmart and Target. They're MUCH easier to use than the gal Ball jars and they cost less than half as much, if that matters. Target and Amazon sell Anchor Hocking 1.5gal and 2.5gal jars. They're not quite 100% airtight, but close.

This is Press 'n Seal. This stuff seals, and I mean seals, any glass container. You can buy it in many supermarkets. If you use, say, the 1gal cracker jars, seal the opening with Press 'n Seal and then put the lid on. Very close to 100% airtight. HTH
